The Mechanical Knight
No one knows why or how it came to be,
The curse that bound a knight's soul to metal for eternity.
A young squire only seventeen.
A fool he was to take such a deal.
Quite surreal it had all felt like a dream
Invincibility, flesh became steel.
A vow, bringer of death, protector of life.
He would not sire a child nor take a wife.
A few thousand years since that fateful day,
He recalls again the girl in his bedchamber asking him to stay.
At odds with himself, an artificial being.
Old, broken and violent, a killing machine.
On he roams through his eternal hell,
seeking the witch who could reverse the spell.
