A collage of mixed design ideas for this mechanical knight.

I'm leaning towards him being a lancer/jouster. A mixed arrangement of armour and robotics due to his soul being bound to metal. Back and ankle rocket boosters for propulsion. Retractable wheels on his feet. A weapon that is a halberd/greatsword/lance/railgun combo. Toying with the idea of dual heated energy metal whips. Maybe due his connection with metal he is able to gain control of geothermal/thermal energy and magnetism. Allied with an Artificial Intelligence that shares his preservation of life who operates some of his robotics and some times takes the form of his land or sky companion which could be a steed, warg, flying manta or even dragon.

The horse, dragon and motorcycle are really good ideas for a dynamic composition, if you are searching for that it will be a great addition!

Great designs so far! I love the idea of the high-tech motorcycles, just because everyone else in this challenge seems to be going fantasy or demonic. But then, once you're going with a mechanical feel, that makes any of the creatures rather original as well. Whichever you choose, good luck!

Thank you! Thanks for saying that as I'm trying to decide between the horse and the motorcycle. I'm trying to keep the origin fantasy and the theme scifi by not diving into either one completely. Also playing a combo where motor/hoverbike looks like a horse or the horse has wheels, wings or rocket boosters. I'll keep the choices open until I figure my composition for the final illustration.

Did a bit more concepting. This is what I'm thinking the character's armour is going to look like. Still trying to decide on a helmet. Leaning more towards the horse as his mount and companion. I like the idea of a shield made of light and energy for his weapon generated from poles similar to the propulsion boosters that extend from his back and lower legs.

Sketches. Going with the 1st helmet. The third helmet felt comically dark. I'm combining elements from both to make the helmet more mechanical looking. I did a concept to make the helmet look more human. Didn't feel very knightly. Sketched the back piece for his flag pole boosters. Examined his armour, felt the polished look made him more dark. Since I want him to be a light character I'm moving more towards a derelict rusted look with bits of overgrown greenery. Changed his left pauldron away from something a WoW paladin or Judge Dredd might wear and tried to include tech that could generate energy shields for him.
