Hey! I'm Monarise, my first time joining Art War really just learnt about it this year, so I'm here to give it my all and probably kill myself trying.

My champion is Minka a child mage who practices Obeah magic, I'll figure out how to explain obeah better in English but really it's voodoo and magic's secret love child.

This is my first sketch of Minka, I'm still in the silhouette and concept phase so expect a lot of changes, to the silhouette. I'm always open to CC and I'd really appreciate it. More on Minka's backstory in the next concept!

So I took a look at Minka again and wasn't really satisfied, really I thought she was boring so I decided to reword the entire silhouette and just let loose for a bit. I like these results much better. I'm a bit in love with disproportionate shapes and sizes so I got some refers and then saw what came of them.

So from the five I sketches yesterday, picked my top 3 and now I'm going on to sketching out different versions of each to make my selection for the strongest silhouette.

First up is Minka, as a bird hybrid still using the Obeah Mage concept but I decided to take some more creative liberties with it.

Hi! Nice programme.
If you want to choose the strongest silhouette, considering your drawing style, why don't you lay down strong and simple shapes instead of working with lines?
Just a thought, at first 4 stretched triangles for wings and legs, two diamonds for torso and pelvis, a circle for the head. Then, bit by bit, you can add more shapes and build up details.

@innocent Thanks for the feedback ! I'll try that I am struggling on silhouettes. Thanks for the advice.
