The living embodiment of light, the goddess Nayasi spends her days on the higher plane bored out of her divine mind watching over the mortals she once helped breathe life into. Although she is immortalized as an icon of grace and purity by those who worship her, Nayasi is easily amused by violence, though her soft heart would never allow her to find any delight in the torment of her subjects. Nevertheless, every ten thousand years, when darkness gathers and threatens the balance, the laws of creation bend and she is allowed to manifest on the physical plane and wreak havoc to defend her people, a hunt which she relishes immensely.
Hey folks! Here's my entry for Artwar 2. Missed the first one so I'm really stoked it's happening again. Since I mostly do dark-oriented type characters in my personal work, I wanted to switch it up a bit and do a light character this time around. My champion is the physical incarnation of a light goddess who's not the generic pure, peaceful deity of light, but actually a bit of a sadist who loves taking the fight to the forces of darkness.
Since she can't manifest with her real form on the physical plane, she's something between man and god, so I want my designs to look a bit alien but still have a holy vibe. I've included the first few sketches I've done so far below so feel free to tell me which one or what bits of them you like. I think I already have my own personal favorites but I'd really like to hear your thoughts as well. Cheers and good luck!
