Thanks everybody! Looks like D and H seem most popular, D for looking fierce, and H for subtlety. O, R and E following closely behind. Will keep everyone's suggestions regardless.
@bcbedford Thanks mate. For sure was looking at kabuki make up when i made those. Didn't consider negative shapes at all yet, so I'm definitely going to experiment with that.
@alemja I see! Now that I look at it, I do think the gun silhouette I have on my sketch looks very angular and modern. Will most likely revamp the look and make it more gothic/steampunk as to not mislead anyone. Cheers for the feedback.
@kend @zazie @independhans Thanks guys, much appreciated!
Updated my sketch by cleaning it up and visualizing more specific things like her boots and gun. For now I've went with face paint H due to its Kabuki inspired look that i feel more relevant to the character's mystical theme. I am fond of D though for reasons people have pointed out so I'm keeping a face paint change later on a possibility.
I added a hint of ghastly green to some of her wear. This should give contrast to the reds.
I tweaked the guns to be less angular and more curved like that of steampunk guns to reinforce her as a fantasy oriented character.
Experimented with her boots/heels to a shape I'm happy with. Inspired by Japanese geta wear but not quite geta. I'd like to see if I can get it to feel 'right' while keeping them as sleek heels.
Let me know what you think!
Old sketch for context, and to see if I lost anything essential in this iteration.
Definitely grabbing the popcorn for this one
I too find the platform boots a little odd, but that's me. II think it's because they're visually distracting, they have a lot of detail and extra shapes in comparison to the legs in general, so it pulls your eye towards it. (Also the reflections of the gold will be enough to distract the eye to the torso and head though so should look alright in the end?)
@blair Cheers, thanks Blair! : )
