Hi, I'm new here and I just joined the Art School program. I'm a 27 Year Old Junior 3D Environment Artist and I want to expand my skill set.

I'm also putting my latest illustration work prior to joining the course just as a baseline of where I am currently and hopefully to improve over time.

Welcome! What a beautiful illustration, I can't wait to see what you do!

Welcome to the group! You have a good base! Hope to see more of your art and assignments from the classes.

Thank you, I'm currently waiting for my replacement tablet so I'll start the second it arrives and I can use the course to also adjust to the new tablet.

Hi I decided to try one of the assignments for proportions. I'm quite new to this so any feedback will be a big help. Any tips on properly measuring proportions especially.

Hi Aurora. I think you did really good on the proportions part especially for a first time. You will get an even better understanding once you get to the anatomy classes. My only critiqueโ€”pay attention to the evenness of each side. Your right side of drawings is trying to go higher than the left. This may cause issues in more complex pieces. Flipping your drawings to check usually helps.

I see your point, thanks for the feedback I genuinely appreciate it. I hope to get this and the measuring proportions down as much as possible before moving forward.

I hope to be able to catch up soon.

an update on my proportion work. This time from memory and without looking at the reference. Just using guidelines.

My *nth attempt at the visual Proportions measurement. I really found this one extremely frustrating that I had to break out CSP's rulers to try and get it close to this and even then I messed up quite badly. If there's any guide, I'd really love it because I'm struggling quite a lot with this one.
