Hi hello! Just call me Ratty! I'm a 27 yr old software engineer from Germany. Also very nervous so please bear with me lol

Been drawing since I was a kid and got into anime and manga. You know the drill.
All these years I never really sat down to study the fundamentals or anatomy and I feel like it's holding me back, so it's finally time to change that! My goal is not to become a professional, I just wanna improve in my hobby and enjoy creating art again.

I feel like Art School will help me a lot, because it's very hard for me to study without guidance and collect resources on my own.

Here's some of my work from '21-'23!

Looking forward to connecting with y'all!

Welcome Ratty! I think you'll have a good time around here. Best of luck with your journey!

Welcome Ratty I look forwards to your art journey

Heyooo! I finished my assignments for Term 1 - Week 1.
The Curves and Levels tools are completely elusive to me, it took a lot of trial and error.

I will continue the daily assignments for a few days and then move onto Week 2. Looking forward to it!

12 days later

Yo yo yo, I'm still alive somewhat. Week 2 has been kinda sludgy for me, been dealing with some health issues and other annoying stuff. BUT! I tried to do the daily assignments - at least as much as I could.

Might as well skip the Liquify/Heal/Stamp assignment for now and come back to it later, because I reeeally wanna draw more :innocent:

Some of my more recent skeletons - I did around 14 of these in total:

One time I tried Skeleton on photo -> Redraw the skeleton from reference -> Draw the body just for fun and it worked surprisingly well!

Combining Images:

Nice work! Yea, working from references is what most artists do, it works really well!
