Hey there, my name is Christopher Branch and I am in the process of making a comic called Black Blade. It is about a demon called “The Polyp” in hell who struck a deal with Lucifer to be reborn and live again as a human. The catch? The Polyp must subjugate Lucifer’s traitorous demon generals and reclaim all of the stars of lucifer’s Halo/crown that the generals have taken.
I am making this comic to have more discourse about abrahamic theology/mythology, and to sculpt the idea of a reverse Dante’s Inferno. The Polyp throughout his journey in hell will be spiraling upward towards the surface, and will be fighting and slaying demons and angels alike. Big themes will be transformation, redemption, tyrannical heirarchies, and blurring the lines between angel and demon. This inspired by the smt series of video games and a self made challenge of drawing the 72 demons in the Ars Goetia as well as the myriad of angels mentioned in religious texts.
I don’t know how long I will post here but I will try to post as much as I can. Be warned it will be rather spoiler-y.
