Well - if you know the question you know the answer.
I ask myself questions to find out more information and learn . Sometimes I feel like knowing everything but when I need to explain I actually dont know any. I guess its similar to teaching except I teach myself/ I think just copying a masters work mindlessly wont teach me anything but mechanical brushwork. Its good but More important is to take it and use it in your works. Thats why I ask some of those questions.
Everything begins in your head .Self criticism also important. I dont get many outside critics . Maybe from small group of close people but thats it.
Idea and though is important. So I try to give myself food for thought. Also it helps me to study and understand masters thinking and process. And then execute in the practical copying/
