Great gestures mate, and I see great improvement on cylinders

Did some gesture studies. Been watching lots of gesture videos from Mike Mattesi and I've learned so much. My gestures still have a long way to go though.

30 second gestures

Character studies from artist Cecile Carre. I highly recommend checking her out. Her work is super incredible.
I first used a big brush with a low opacity to get the basic form and flow first and then I used a small sketch brush to outline the troll's features.

I wanted to end week 4 with a rough character design draft that I came up with for the big muscular mustache performer man I previously did. I changed up his design a bit to a more simple design cuz it's a lot easier to work with. Also, added some extra characters for him to interact with to showcase more of his personality.

Will work on Oli later but for now I will move on forward to Week 4.

haha that's great! he looks like a fun character! and those are good studies!

Felt like just drawing something so I did one of Beverly Johnson art exercises. I just got a random color and started putting in some random shapes or forms, then I would just draw in something that came to my mind.

It was super fun. Recommend this exercise if you have no idea what to draw.

Nice gesture drawings. Very nice exercises. I like the strong man character.
Putting in random colors and shapes, then drawing what comes to mind... Interesting.

Gestures

Made this character based of an image I saw on Pinterest. I liked the pose so I decided to do a fancy lady enjoying herself with her martini drink.

I like the sketchy lines. and the pose of the character.

Just a quick loose sketch. My goal was to create a sketch that the audience can easily identify the story by the characters gesture and expression. Definitely could have exaggerated more but, overall, I'm happy with what I was able to come up with.

Looks like classical Disney drawing which at that time looks simplistic but also keep it expressive. Is there any particular artist you look toward at?

Reminds me of Preton Blair.

Thank you. I love the style of old cartoons like tom and jerry, the rescuers, or the sword in the stone. The characters were so expressive and their character designs stood out to me so much as a kid. I'll probably tend to gravitate a bit towards that style since I love it so much.
For artist, there's a lot of them I look up to but if I have to pick one or two maybe Cécile Carre and Thibault Leclercq. They are awesome artists.

Yo wake her up, it's time for the next show!

Drawing looks good. Stylized but well formed and proportioned.
