Hey there! My name is Christian I am 15 a german student and i started with digital art work recently and would like to share some bits and pieces with you guys ! . In this blog i will also show some pencil sketches or drawings. One of my Biggest Idols is Marc Brunet ( cubebrush) and i hope that i one day will be as good as he is I never went to any art schools or something like that i taught everything i know myself ^^

This is it guys ! This is the Illustration i made for the weekly competition with the theme' Undefeated Champion' . It took me about 8 hours and i had to sleep over it, because at one point i didn't know what to do but I like how it came out ^^

i guess i used one pose from my sketch xD //Moose . This was still when i was drawing with my mouse and i had to scan a hand drawn image of this so i could color it in

Some thoughts on human anatomy //Focus was one of my first digital paintings ever and i put a lot of time in this one xD Even tho it isn't perfect ..at all... I'm still proud of it, because it helped me finding what style of art i want to do or like.. the direction i want to go

This is my hand drawn character for //Focus and i thought why not sharing this with you because this is what i did before digital drawings traditional art. I know that that isn't the 100% right human anatomy but this is more my style //Seeded So this is my very first time using Photoshop cc and yes this was still made with a mouse not a pad so just imagine how long this took me xD I used this head to create the character from //Focus Some avatar fan art #neytiri

Hi Christian~! Looking at your work it doesn't look like you are new to art- have you been doing a lot of pencil or other traditional media work before? Looking forward to your pencil sketches as well ^^

Wow dude, you sure have ambition for someone using a mouse! I mean the scope of some of these, geez.

If you want to get the most out of your mouse, I recommend using the Pen tool, and using Vector lines. The standard shortcut is "P" in Photoshop. I recommend looking up tutorials if you haven't used it before, as it SEEMS counter intuitive at first. To get you started, maybe look at ctlr + paint http://www.ctrlpaint.com/videos/making-selections-with-the-pen-tool-part-1
He doesn't use it for drawing directly, but i've seen some insane illustrations made with that thing.

Another alternative is to scan your traditional sketches and work on them in Photoshop after the fact. I used to do this before I got a tablet, and had some success.

But geez dude, Raven Enlight? That probably took hella amount of time.

Hey stealcase! Yeah raven enlight really took me some time but recently i got an intuos pro pad and my latest digital drawing was made with that ( //I'm blue) . Thanks for the advice with the Pen tool i will surely check it out !!

Congrats on getting the Intous. I remember my first and how frustrated I was until someone suggested I try simple things like drawing straight lines and circles to warm up. Looks like you aren't having any issues adjusting from mouse/pencil to tablet.

At first it seemed difficult but then i realised that i have been doing the same for years with a pencil and this is also just a pen ^^

I really like the wings, they look like leaves. I like your differences in line thickness also. Adds to the depth.

This piece here is called Contrasts and i guess it is self-explanatory ^^ I added some tears in different colors to give it some edge This was the pencil sketch for my first photoshop work I know its not perfect and yes the left side of the face is slimmer but hey , //Contrasts ^-^

Currently working on this ^^ I need to learn more about motion and poses any feedback is welcome ^-^

I usually spend half an hour of my drawing period as warmup, just drawing 1-minute figure studies. That means everyday i manage to draw at least 30 human bodies simplified, usually in motion. It also helps getting the fluid motion in your drawings, because by the time you start doing your own work, you're already in "the zone". I really notice it in my own drawings when i haven't warmed up this way, since they tend to be stiffer.
I use http://reference.sketchdaily.net/en/ for models and timer.
