Hiya everyone!
I have been doing art for off and on since I was 5. I have taken several art classes/courses off and on as well. In high school I was offered a full ride scholar ship to an art college that was near where I lived, which I turned down for a few life reasons, one of which is because of peer pressure.
I love art, but my skills have drastically diminished over the years because I didn't have a clear concise goal for what I wanted to do, or draw.
I'm an author now and have a goal that is driving me to improve my art. My goal is to be able to draw and illustrate the characters that are in my books, I want to bring the words to life to help myself and those who read my books to see what I see in my mind while I write my books.
I hope you can all help me along my journey!
I appreciate all tips or nudges/suggestions on how I can grow closer to my goal. I look forward to this course and the journey ahead.

Hi and welcome, i wish you good luck
Also, you should probably move this post to art school forum

Cheers

Hello and welcome! I'm sure you'll find what you need here. Best of luck to you

Heyo, welcome, glad to have some company in this journey. Bests of luck!

Its been a bit busy lately so I wasn't able to do much but today i was able to finally sit down and start.

Usually I'm just looking at a reference on my other monitor but I'm going to follow instructions better to cement a better foundation. Lets go!

added orange for the arm shape and volume. trying to keep all the color pallet for each lesson. Ive noticed as I'm out and about, or just watching anime/tv/youtube, or just browsing the internet looking at pictures that my mind is breaking down all the different points, its a little trippy but pretty fun.
Here's the cylinder practice-

Here's the over body practice-

Oh I feel you, doing art really changes how you see things

Keep up the good work,

Cheers

next leson. I did this both sidemy side and then overtop. I realized the i needed to make the body more cubed to better show the twisted areas better.
