All these studies are so clean, your face studies are so well done, their expressions and linework are both phenomenal, and that shading you gave to those clothing studies is so good, I can't get enough of it!.
Thank you @CYP2C19 for the compliments you made my day when i read this.
Okay, time for a weekly update. Hello everyone I've been drawing a decent amount, most of it being studies not to many personal pieces. A lot of anatomy practice i would say. as always critique is appreciated. A study from imagination
Hello everyone, once again i hope you are all having a great day and hopefully enjoying some snow. These are the anatomy studies I've been doing recently. I took a good chunk of time for each of them i feel like i got better through the day. Critique is greatly appreciated. Enjoy your afternoon everyone.
have a merry Christmas tomorrow everyone! This is my color pallet assignment on my new oc, stjarna daughter of Baldur and the stars. let me know which one you like the best and any ideas for her outfit will be considered. Have a great night everyone.
these all look great but i liked the fourth one more, i'm just a suker for white and red, they just fit so well, yet the last dress looks pretty dawn good.
I like number 3 personally, blue and purple
Hi! Those all look great but my pers fav is the last one, although if I think about her as a character nr 3 seems more suitable as it gives you more nebula-like colours!
@Pattu_w I agree, the red and white looks mwa. I'm glad you like it. @Lockenheim blue and purple definitely fits her theme more.@Araita I do like the last one the most as well but i ended up choosing a blue outfit to match her whole character.
Hello once again my fellow friends, I've been up to some anatomy studies. Also some shape stuff and a final piece for the year 2022. Critique is always welcome and have a great night everyone.
Really liked the last piece, folds are clean, colors are awesome but i fell like those feet are huuuge, great stuff tho
huh, I'm just now noticing the feet problem. It's funny how as artists we sometimes overlook the most obvious things. Thank you for the critique i will make sure to be aware for further drawings.
I like this piece quite a bit, I do think that the line work, especially on her legs is doing a lot of the heavy lifting here. I feel that if you can rely on your values over these lines it will increase the realism of the piece. I don't know if that makes sense. But Ireally like this recent one keep it up!
Thank you for the critique @Lockenheim, i do agree that i need to work on my values. Therefore i will stop running from my art responsibilities.
Hey everyone I'm here to post the shapes that i've been working on for term 4. I do not know what it is about them but i have had a rough time drawing cast shadows but i think it worked out well in the end. I'm fairly satisfied with the end ones looked even if it started out rough. As always critique is welcome and have a great day.
Hellllllooooo everyone, i hope you are having a great day. I've been doing some value practice and i think it's going fairly well. thank you @Lockenheim for suggesting i learn my values, i haven't done this in a long while. The first one was a quicker study. As always i would love critque. Have a great day.
One thing that I had recommended to me when I started was to do two tone studies to help gain an eye for value. I highly recommend taking a reference like this and going over it, and detrmining just what is in light and what is in shadow and drawing a red line for the terminator between them. It will be quite difficult at first but it will help. If you are having trouble try squinting at the values. Then pick one color for the light and one for the shades and fill in. When you feel comfortable with these two tone studies then add halftones, or value changes when the form is turning. That will increase the difficulty quite a bit. You are doing veryt well with these and I hope you keep it up! Here is an example of a two tone study and where I would have marked the light and shades for this reference. Keep in mind most people consider halftones a part of the light family is my understanding. Great work as always! Keep it up let me know if this doesnt make sense.
Wow, i wasn't expecting this much knowledge to be given to me when i looked at this. I will definitely be using this practice in my studies as i have heard from a few different sources that this is a great way to start learning values. I appreciate your input and am very glad that i have someone to give me first hand knowledge and critique. Have a fabulous rest of your day!
my daily update for you guys. I have been working on 3d anatomy for character art and values. I welcome critique and i hope all of you have amazing day!
Overall, I'd say this has some very nice anatomy and shading! Some more cleanup around the shading with the smaller areas like the eyelids would work better, as their values contrast with that of the references
Thank you @andysawesomemovies for the critique i will definitely be paying more attention to the smaller areas from now on.
Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a great year so far! I've been very productive and I've been able to get a quite a bit done since i started following Marc's art school schedule. I look forward to the future. The face studies were about 5 minuets per one. as always critique is appreciated.
You did a really nice job with these two tone studies. One thing I wanted to point out is on the first piece, you have her bra strap painted a different than the rest of the chest. Try to think about it in a different way. The bra strap is on the exact same plane as the chest, so its going to receive the exact same amount of light as the area next to it. It appears lighter on the image because the local color is lighter. Or what I mean to say the real color of the bra strap is lighter than the real color of the chest. Try your best to ignore local color when doing these. This is a pretty minor thing but it does help when you get to shading full pieces later. Let me know if this doesnt make sense, good job with these!
Thank you @Lockenheim for the critique your information has extremely helpful and I hope you are having a great day.
Hello everyone i hope you are having a great month, here are some studies I've been working on. I am really satisfied with the candle study i did. I apparently like prop design a lot. As always I like critique. Have a great day everyone.
