I think this is a good start. Right now though, the character feels like an generic NPC character. He seems like and Indian and African mix witch is really cool. Let me know if that was what you were going for. Guessing hes some kind on Bird handler.
I did a quick PO if you don't mind
I didn't change the bird size seeing as we do have big birds that look about that big when next to someone. I added a gradient to the pants as they felt a bit dull. Probably went to far but having nice gradients of colors is always nice in my opinion. I think you can push the tribal aspects more. Having more patterns and different kinds of tattoos on the character could be 1 way. A tattoo of wings can work. I added gradients to the head piece to give it more visual interest. I worked on the anatomy to have it work a little better. You had an awesome line of action so I tried to keep that as much as I could. I highly recommend using reference for the anatomy. Even if you have to take a photo of yourself in this pose, it would help a lot. I forgot to add the other neckless. Besides being some kind of bird handler, I'm not sure how to push this as the design doesn't indicate anything else. If the goal is for a more generic character, than this is fine as is. You can just work on the anatomy and add a bit more to the colors. If you want this to be a hero character who somehow uses his bird companion in battle, then the character will need some extra elements and a hook to go with him.
That'd it for my feedback. Hope it helps.
