Hello again! It's been a while since my last post, these weeks have been a bit hectic so I decided to combine week 4, 5 and 6 into just one post.
My biggest challenge in the past few weeks was ZBrush. I had never touched a 3D sculpting program before so I felt like a fish out of water. The videos were very helpful, but not being familiar with the program I felt quite overwhelmed with so many new things, so all the knowledge I gained I forgot immediately afterwards. Honestly, my biggest enemy was my ability to retain information.
The barrel was the first thing I did, I tried to add some details to it, but I didn't want to put too much resolution on it because I didn't know how much my laptop could handle. The metal rings were the most difficult part, I think they look pretty bad but oh well I tried (I almost cried)
I wanted to make a human bust at first, but it started to look like an alien, and for some reason I ended up with a cat face ?? I think this one is a lot better than the barrel, but I had a horrible time trying to make the ears (they look even worse from behind) And even though I wanted to do the whickers, for some reason it looked really weird so I gave up.
The other things I did during these weeks were less overwhelming. I was practicing with anatomy, I also tried to draw other types of faces, and I was experimenting with clothes.

I also did some more studies in my sketchbook, but my drawings are very messy and don't look very good in photos.
I also made a study from one of my favorite artist that I have already shown in some of my other posts. I had wanted to do this for a long time because I really love their style and wanted to learn more about their technique.
And I also made a new version of the torso that I posted a few weeks ago! This time it actually looks a lot better thanks to the advice I received, I still have to improve with things like shadows and lighting, but now I have the motivation to draw muscular men without fear of the torso looking weird! Yay!
I might take a week to work on personal projects that I need to finish, and recently I got Clip Studio Paint so I also want to familiarize myself with the program. If anyone knows how to use it and has any advice or comments about it I would also like to know!
