Hey =) First of all ... a really cool event you guys have planned in the backyard =D

Just two little questions:

1. What is exactly the definition of "fantasy" in your case? I mostly see medieval-like characters, but would create some character living in the 19th century ... is this also allowed?

2. What about the general "Topic" of the ArtWar. Should the character be designed to be able to stand a chance against "SciFi" character or is the ArtWar just the title of the challenge without any deeper meaning? Should my hero be the one, able to win the war between SciFi creatures and the fantasy faction ... or "just" another hero pulled out of my mind without any deep meaning?

Would appreciate some clarification on this topic =)

Fantasy doesn't mean historical and the story behind your concept is all up to you as long as you keep the rules in mind.

In regards to the concept sheet... what's considered "good" for a concept sheet? If I have a finished idea but it's not super pretty or anything then is that good enough (because it's just a concept) or should I make it look beautiful and attempt to balance my time between the concept sheet rendering and finishing the illustration? I know it's a weird question

I'd love to compete in something like this, but I'm still very much a novice at digital art, so I'd probably have like 0% chance at even coming close to winning, I'd still like to participate though. Only one problem - I can't decide between the 2 genres! XD

The concept sheet is part of the submission, so it's just as important as the final illustration/3D model.

You can find a definition for fantasy (genre) on wikipedia, it's pretty standard stuff. The rules also state it's a war between genres, so yes the name has meaning and your entry should take that into consideration! Cheers

For a direct answer to your question you can check the Art War FAQ where all the countries who are allowed are listed. If you can't find your country's name there then unfortunately, you cannot win. Some countries and cities have strict rules about competitions so the exceptions weren't made by Cubebrush.

Not having Twitter isn't a problem as long as you can be contacted by Cubebrush in case you win etc etc.
