Wew, haven't updated in a while. Been so busy it's been really hard to keep making progress.
Most of my drawing time goes into the manga, though I still try to set some time at the side to keep progressing on my art journey.
I've been working on the excercices perspectvie for Term 2. I've always kinda struggled with perspective and environments, so this is quite challenging.
I started by trying to do a bridge/gate in 3 point perspective like the excercice states.
The perspective seems correct, but overall I was just not very happy with the overall piece. It just kinda felt very meh. At this point I stoppd this piece and decided to just retry it again.
I feel this second attempt was much better. Seems more impossing and I got a good feeling at how the third point dramatically affects the feel of the perspective.
I then tried to apply some color to it with a different coloring techique I saw in some tutorials.
It's kinda rough, and I could keep stacking more and more detail to make it better, but for an exercise I think it was fine.
It also took an embarrassingly long time. Many hours. Probably over 6.. I lost track at some point.
I feel like the perspective is fine, but I clearly need a lot more practice to design and apply details so the piece feels more "organic" and not as blocky. I did use some references to apply a bit of detail, but it it needs more work.
I do want to keep moving ahead though, so next is the 4 point perspective (That one is gona be tough for me), and really just keep practicing this more until I get better at it.
Since these are the last excercices for term 2, I think I'll start going through the term 3 videos as I do more exercices on the anatomy and perspective lessons learned so for.
As a bonus, here are a few pieces of the manga as usual.
Last few weeks have been exhausting, but it's always fun to circle back and make progress on this art journey. I do feel like things are improving a lttile more with every piece.
