Oh I see that! I think I tend to do that on 3/4 portraits - push the eye too far to the side of the face making it look kinda "flat". Im gonna keep that in mind for the next portraits.
Thanks for the words and feedback, it helps a lot!

Imagine if both of them have red pupils.. :see_no_evil: :smiling_imp:
Great work btw dan. Thank you for the suggestions too..

Well, its been a long time since I dont update this, but I've been drawing during this period. Im gonna try to be more consistent uploading the studies throughout the days, instead of just posting a bunch of stuff every 4 weeks (like Im doing right now lol).

If you have any feedback or tips that you think it could help me improve the studies, please dont hesitate saying!

Anyways, here are some portrait quick studies:

Some 3 point perspective studies (still need to do more of these)

Here is a drawing that I liked and will probably finish in the next days/weeks:

And a full illustration that Im working on (and struggling a lot with the rendering)

Overall, I would say that these are some really great and solid studies. especially the portrait ones. If there's one thing, these pieces could use some more contrast in values. Keep up the great work! :))

these are all great stuff!!!!!!!
10/10..

@000_peanut @alwaysneedsleep Thanks a lot!
@Apath TY! And yes, I can see that. Since I start with low contrast on values and work building it up, sometimes I dont push it far enough. I will try to gradually push a little bit more for the next ones. Thanks for the feedback!!

Wow, just wow! These portraits are so on point, you are totally nailing the planes and the values. These look so good. Likeness is good to I know the photo you used for the one in the bottom right! I really love your style. You are way beyond my level I have nothing of value to add just wanted you to know you are killing it. Keep it up!

Thank you so much Lock, that means a lot! I see you in most topics, helping everyone, its really good to have someone like you in the community!!

Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm still pretty new so I don't always have something to add. But I know the power of a kind word. I have people in my life who never believed in me and never supported me. Sometimes all it takes to be successful is a little encouragement. Keep up the great work!

I finally finished the cat stealing fish art. It helped me to understand better some parts of the process. The render was the hardest part by far - I felt lost/like I didnt really knew what I was doing a few times during the painting process. I feel like I could've done better, but overall Im somewhat satisfied with the final result since I didnt start studying color theory/composition yet.

Im starting to feel like moving to Term 3 now, will finish the last 4 and 5 points perspective assignments and move on.

Here is the final image and the process:

You are making excellent progress. I like the motion blur. It's a nice touch.

This looks pretty good. Now I think you need to work on the rendering of the dress. And for the other one, you may need to change the color of the person's pants. It blends into the field. The lighting looks pretty good for both.

Thanks a lot!
@gregorya Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I agree on both - Especially colors and rendering, they are the hardest part for me. Im kinda waiting for the next terms to focus more on those subjects, but I should be more careful when it comes to finish the paintings.

Hey, its been a while since I post here. I kept studying the Term 3 to really get a good structure on basic anatomy - I feel like im going slow but at least continuous. Focusing on the muscles while doing figure drawing and some portraits.
Also I did my first commission for a friend of mine, learned a lot with it.
Please, dont hold back on the feedback/critiques if you see something you think can be improved!

A thumbnail i want to explore and finish in the future

Heres the commission:
