More study both from imagination and reference focusing more on structures

I would like to move on perspective bit there are so many aspect to work on that I will stay bit more on face anatomy for now

two studies. On the second the mouth is really off but overall I like it, the color (my first try to use gradient map) feel me fit the theme (I imagined some sort of disapointment)

I had some doing this sea monster, while studying mouth and face anatomy, and it turned out I needed some more study on mouth.

A study for a smiling face based on Julia Roberts

Nice studies! This julia roberts one is particularly interesting
Do note though that she has a very strong gingival smile. The smile flattens her upper lip almost entirely and elevates the cutaneous lip a lot showing the gingiva (as your study shows) but the muscle (levator labii superioris alaeque nasi) also elevates her nostrils a lot making the tip more prominent downward. Also she has a hypertrophic orbicularis oculi at the palpebral region that you show there but would make her eye look practically like an upwards semicircle, the bottom lid contour would be almost straight when smiling

Yes, I wanted to study some extreme muscular expression. but those two things goes unnoticed. Particularly the levator labii alaeque nasi, I didn't noticed the prominence of the tip of nose, while I noticed the hypertrophic orbicular oculi but I didn't catched the horizontality of the bottom lid.

Thank Snakker, these was great info here you explained me.

I post the ref too for more clarity. Also I noticed her hair was bit more voluminous.

Head studies ...

These are beautiful. I can feel their expressions. Also now that I watched the term 2 video on head anatomy I can totally see how you measured things and it looks great! (Especially like the woman looking down)

It took me a while to figure out all the volumes...even after the explanation on Marc vid's. Working whit values helped me a lot, but now I feel more confident about it even of I still work on reference at most.

All the steps here aren't quite clear but I drawed and studied almost everyday for 1 or 2 h.

Maybe I'll start putting here more materials, I am not good at social ^^'

This was from Kitchen Nightmares . I often get inspired by any possible materials, but I guess isn't so weird after all, there is photo and light studio behind these show. This I found very dramatical (as was supposted to be ofc) so I decided to take some screenshot and do study about it. I liked the nose and the overall face of this girl.

I feel It's time to start working on perspective part, now I have grasped a little more about anatomy face and portrait (even if I feel like being at bottom of a looong stairs, as always, now I know how the steps are made lol).

This was a preparatory sketch I made, whit my notes. The scene it will be based on a personal fiction world.
