Feels like October - Halloween theme - please leave a critique

Hey guys,

October is here and there are a few more days for the Halloween and it definitely feels like it in air outside with the gloomy weather and everything.
I made this piece inspired by this time period.

What do you think of it?

Awesome creature, man! Really dig the idea of this creature. The stretched skin around the nose is such a good touch too.

I'd say one thing that stands out is the rim light on the left side of the face. I think it's too strong for that type of lighting/setting scenario. I feel like you could even take away the rim light as well. By dimming/ taking away the rim light it makes the creature feel more menacing by not knowing what is there. This is a case where less = more. Taking away light tells more of a story and this lets the viewer fill in the blanks. (I hope you dont mind the mini paint over ;_; I'm not good at explaining)

Thank you so much for the awesome feedback!
I have struggled a lot with that rim light idea. I did not know if it's better with it or without it. At first I felt exactly how you described it but, in the end, I ended up liking it more with the rim light on.
Now, that you mentioned it, I'm thinking on leaving it without the rim light, hehe
