Hi all,

I really enjoyed ARTWAR last year so I thought I would give it a go again and see how much my skills have improved since then.

Ezrael a Light side Champion who protects those souls who stray between the lands of light and dark. She defends those of the light from the spirits, ghouls and demons who serve the dark who forever try to gain entry to the bountiful lands of the champions of light. Often described to have a teeth filled smile but this is actually due to the splintered bottom of the her wooden mask. During life as a human she punished those who brought pain and suffering to the world and after many years of protecting the realm of light she was buried and had a tree planted on top of her grave. Her life's actions were rewarded however and granted angelic enlightenment, this process often bounds the soul to a landmark so that the soul can draw power form life. In Ezrael's case she pulls power from the tree planted, which many people go on pilgrimage to see and pay their respects.

Initial ideas came from a very angelic and demonic background for light vs darkness so I did some research into angels in mythology (as I'm leaning towards light side allegiance for now). Looking into Greek and Roman beliefs turned up some interesting stuff in regards to death and purgatory. The personification of death being less of a direct figure (Thanatos/Mors) and often more of a place (Dis Pater), the mention of deities that curse or punish oath breakers (Horkos/Orcus) lead me to finding a simliar-ish mention in Christianity. 'Ezra' a figure given a 'hit' list in life and was then rewarded with angelic evolution/enlightenment for his work after death. I was thinking of setting the war in purgatory so ill be looking into some ideas for that later.

Hey, great design so far! I love that it not just an easy ''angelic" look. I do wonder whether you will be team Light or team Dark?

@evehartman Hey, its funny you mention this as I initially was going with a light side angel and in the process of making it non traditional its blurred the line. even in my wing types I've mixed in both angelic and demonic styles.

Wing designs, so far I'm liking H which was based along Velociraptor wings/feathered arms.

Those designs look awesome! I do like to make a remark about your comment on the slight mix between light and dark in the design, as I found this in the FAQ:

I think some slight elements will be okay, but just be careful; I do not want you to be at a disadvantage because of this!

Yes that's a fair point, I will have to do a brief / control check when I'm happy with the design but before I start the more finished work.

Removed the armor getting a bit to busy and also as a deity like creature armor isn't necessarily needed and moved wing shoulders down. Added clothing, unsure of what Halo to use now...
