Sketches for my character.
Team Darkness for the win!!

After I watch Starwars tomorrow(12/15) I might do more sketches. I'm in a starwars mood so my character is an galactic ruler.
So he needs to be intimidating, aggressive, powerful, Dynamic and "Dark"
Hopefully I hit those marks with these early sketches

Personally like the ones on the far right and far left. Might combine them in some way. Any input is greatly appreciated!

In my opinion the one on the far right is a better foundation for a dark ruler. The one on the left looks brutish with the bulky upper part and the wide, but short blades.
I personally would look at number 2 or 4 for parts that can enhance number 9.

Thanks a bunch for the feedback. After getting some rest an looking at these with new eyes, I can agree with you. I'm starting to like 2 a lot more. It has the triangle shape I wanted for the silhouette and number 4 is just cool.

I really love the colour palette you're going with. Black and purple ooze evil overtones. I'm loving those shoulder blades too. That squared off yet spikey top is a great unique silhouette.

Something tells me the chest/abs need to have more visual interest though. Darth Vader had those buttons. You know? Just a thought.

Very cool sketches you have here and that won't be easy to choose one !
Really like 1, 2, 3 and 9.
Maybe 8 could be interesting with other weapon choice ?

I'm still unsure where to go : LIGHT or DARK...tough choice...

As usual I would prefer mix them both (like previous contest haha)
Just hope I could finish it this time

@jonathan-barker thanks for the feedback. I know exactly what you mean. I just saw Starwars ep8 which gives me a few ideas.

@mr_dessin Good to see you again. Look forward to yours. Thanks for the feedback. I like those choices as well. In the next batch, i'll aim to improve on what I have. By the way just go DARK. It's the best side . I might do both seeing as I can't mix them. Darkness for 2D and Light for 3D(might go double dark). You'll finish in time bro. I believe in you.

Well...even if I'm not really decided...I think I'll go to the LIGHT side haha

BUT...I think that's my sketches (and my inspiration with the flow of good musics) will probably decide it.
I certainly will take a look on both side first at least.
(well that's about what you said as well haha)

All looks pretty cool there....shapes, shoulder pads, helmets, legs ! (maybe a problem (for the contest) the lightsaber ? I mean a bit too obvious where it's from haha)
If I was you (but I'm not for sure), I'll take the last figure, with the bust plate (and maybe the sort of veil ? under his chest and surrounding his hips) from 1st and kneepad and forearm plates from 2nd.

But do whatever you want with that advice ^^

Really dig the second one. I feel like you could push the shapes so they're more extravagant given the character. Go crazy with them so that he feels more "royal. Right now youve got something very interresting going on but it all feels too constrained to me. Open up that chest and broaden those shoulders! Make it clear he is the ULTIMATE ruler! Hope this helps haha

That looks pretty cool. I don't know if its by design or not but I would maybe add a little bulk to the legs. But looks great! Keep up the good work!

It's been 4 days. Did a few more sketches. Took suggestions and added them.

The third design is really slick and clean/simple...although I'm not particularly sure about the blade...a bit thinner or really bigger blade (Berserk/Guts for instance) ?
However the sort of "double laser knives" (sorry don't know how to call them haha) were looking dope on your previous design (5 days ago) !

The others with their big shoulder pads are really too much distracting.
Just my opinion and I'm certainly totally wrong (as usual haha).

hey! your direction is looking epic! I like the 3rd and 4th the best they look pretty cool, I agree with @mr_dessin on the circular blade things they were epic, the blade looks good too! anyway good luck!
