To answer your question, yes, I think you've kind of gone overboard with your composition. Our challenge entries should be highlighting a single strong character, and looking at your entry, I see 4 all about the same size. Two are clearly less detailed so I don't think anyone will mistake the spirit genies for the main characters, but you also don't get a strong "THIS is the main character" vibe from the picture. It'cs certainly not as active, but the last image you posted totally makes it clear who the hero is. The current composition, by giving the light and dark versions of her equal weight, is less clear. I'm sorry to say it because it's a really fun, dynamic composition... It just may not be the right compositional approach for this particular challenge.
One note on character design: while msot of her feels unique, quirky, and original, I find it impossible to look at super-long, bright blue braid and not think of Jynx from League of Legends (and I don't even play LoL, lol! 
) Earlier in your thread you experimented with other hair colors, you might consider switching to one of them to avoid the obvious comparison.
