here are two 1 hour quick bashes i did to get some more ideas out of my head
i had a spare hour to do some silhouette designs . i think i'm going to go in a different direction but same idea.
Some final composition and value tests. I'm going to make the most of the my free time this week to make a solid final painting.

Finally i figured out a good composition and what i actually want to show as a message!. new direction the Protector of the forests & nature.
Your new composition and the academic painting vibe are really nice. Will you add some influence from miniature painting?
Thanks for the kind words. I'm not 100 % sure where it will end. I'v never herd of miniature painting but now that i know, I'm considering looking into it. More story is always a good thing so I'm looking to add some small animals in the foreground.
A small update. i still have a lot more work to do. but i am determined to finish this
A pretty decent amount done today. its getting closer and closer to what i would consider good/cool looking. still much to do!

I really don't care anymore about sticking to "traditional" 2D art. whatever that is. I'm taking this opportunity to find something unique about my work and hopefully to make something interesting to look. I want to push my work into the unknown
