Here's the pic with a lot more small tweaks, little rendering and shading things all over... The floor, rim lights, the cherubs in general, her belt buckle, more bounced light, cleaning up some of the line art, etcetera. I'll have to sleep on it, but at the moment I'm not really sure what else to do with it. It's feeling close to done... But please feel free to call out anything you see that I could work on! (If not I'll just move on to the front and back views...)

I saw your post when I had no account and when I finally created one I could not find it again until now - your idea is awesome - so different and so perfect fitting the theme - I really love your character and the painting style matches brilliant. Maybe the cherub near the ground should cast a shadow? But that's just high-level moaning

The only thing you could improve right now is the background, it feels too 3d-ish for the moment
But maybe you can take a little break from this, work on the modelsheet and then go back to this later with a fresh mind if you want

@janvill & @EllyettWee - Yeah, I've been having trouble figuring out how dark to make the shadows, because all of the characters should cast shadows, but then, it's a lighted floor. But checking references, a disco floor still takes shadows, so I can work on that. Thanks for the suggestion!

@rgdraw I wasn't sure how much to paint over the back because so much of it is obscured by light effects. But your suggestion to tackle the model sheet first is a good one. Thanks!

So the front and back views will be next...

Sore rough sketches for front and back views. I'm pretty happy with the front view but have a couple of options (so far) for back view. Any thoughts?
(She's supposed to be dancing in the last pic, but I'm not sure it's coming across.)

Looking ahead to the Character Sheet, in addition to a front and back view and process shots, every warrior needs an awesome logo, don't they? I mean, all comic book heroes have great logos, so why shouldn't our Art War warriors? Ah, truth is I just enjoy designing logos and felt like Crystal the Saturday Knight could use one. It's not done yet and I will tweak the colors to match the eventual character sheet I assemble, but here it is in progress:

I like the more bloopy outlines of the bottom one, and it's more colorful, but the top version's colors match her outfit more closely, so we'll see. What do you think?

ahah man the idea is really cool and unique i love how the armor works ... now she can even blind her enemies with the reflection of light

the illus. looks really awesome if there is any thing id say just turn down the brightness on the entire piece so you can lighten the girl so it grabs more attention (focal point )

Anyhow, I've been sitting around all afternoon listening to some Best of Disco playlist on Spotify as I ink her front view drawing for the Character Sheet. Feel free to call out anything not working on it!

If I had to be say something it's that I think you should work and the hands, It might be your only weak spot (or it's totally a style choice and then, forget everything I just said xD )

@rgdraw no, that's totally valid, thanks for calling it out. I spent some time this morning drawing hand studies and looking at the approaches of several artists who are better than I at hands and then redrew mine. Hopefully they're better now. I'll post them later when I finish the back view.
