Maybe this is a really late start, but I wanted to try at least. Made a few thumbnails but I don't really know yet what I want to draw. I don't know yet what I should call my character, because I don't really know anything about it yet, I'm thinking of a demon or a shadowy humanoid.

I like the second and the fifth most, but what do you guys think?

I selected the fifth one because I thought that one was the most unique and something I would have the most fun drawing. I scaled it up and tried to make the clothing come together and made a portrait for her. I think that the forehead is kinda empty so maybe I will draw a helmet or something else that can go on the that part.

To make it easier when I make the illustration I did a few color passes on the character so I have some kind of feeling how I want her to look like. I think I will make everything a bit darker and not so saturated, but we will see.

Did a few thumbnails for the illustration. I am not so good at this so the third and the fourth one didn't become as good as the first two. It's nice training tho! I really like the two top ones, but the second one feel more "evil" kinda, and fits the character more, so I'm probably going with that one.

Yo! I support your choice for the second concept! More epic, more stable and most of all more natural. Did you try a longer format or wider like a 1920*1080px ratio? It could be nice to install some action.

Thank you! I'm really bad with backgrounds so I didn't think of making it wider, but maybe I will try that to get out of my comfort zone!

Tried to make the picture wider and make some kind of background, but I think it's super hard because I don't really know what to have there. Is it okay as it is or should I start over with the background?

It feels like the perspective on the body disappeared when I put clothes on her and that the pose isn't as dynamic anymore.

Hi!
You can ask yourself some questions to solve your problem of dynamic and background.
What is she doing? Jumping, running, stretching her leg?
what is the best angle to show this kind of action?
She is going from? to? why?

I have been rendering the character a bit since posting last time, but I still don't know what to do with the background so I haven't changed anything there yet. Hopefully I will have time to get references and answering those questions so I can continue with the background.

Because of my lack of imagination I cropped down the picture again, until I get some ideas for it. I'm not used to drawing backgrounds, and it would be a really good idea to practice it now, but it's hard.

I also started to pick colors for the illustration, I follow my concept 100% but it's close. What do you guys think?

Tweaked it a bit more with the lights and shadows. For some reason the picture look different when I export it to a PNG. I don't know why :o

After a few days not knowing what to do with the drawing I had a few ideas! I think everything was quite hard because I didn't think more about her as a character, who she is, what she does and why.

I had this idea that she controlls a skeleton army, so she's kind of a necromancer-rogue. And I think it looks pretty cool! I still need to get some more details in the background but I'm starting to feel like it's getting somewhere.

More rendering! Yay! I didn't like how her shadows at the front were, everything went too dark, so I lightened it up a bit. I also didn't like how her face became so that's also something I focused on. I'm starting to feel that I'm close to done with this illustration, and I'm feeling quite happy with it.

Made my concept sheet for the character, and came up with a name for her! I hate to name characters, but I think it suits her pretty well. I hope it doesn't mean something weird in another language haha. Wanted to have my concept for the illustration in here too but I couldn't come up with a way to make it work good.
