Hey everyone! I'm back for Round 2. After Kuuro, I'm definitely looking to create a villain, so I'll be joining team DARKNESS.

I've decided to create my own twist on a demon/leshy/spirit/druid that has turned dark and murderous -- a danger to any being who should accidentally wander into his snowy corner of the woods.

Here's my current progress on the concept. I imagine his gaze having the power to freeze men and creatures in their tracks -- being forced to watch as he comes for them -- so I want him to don a simple, iconic mask. Actual visage TBD?

For the concept, I at least want to resolve the anatomy, orthos, and a feel for the final look before jumping into 3D. I'm considering daggers as his main weapons -- something that could cut trophies and the sort from his prey. More to come.

Thanks folks -- glad to be back! I'm hoping I have time to finish by the deadline -- I've been sick this week and the holidays will be taking a week away from my total time. Staying optimistic!

Minor update of some dagger thumbs. I'm currently inclined towards the thinner curved blades. I also added some considerations for "found" weapons in this universe (perhaps for his collection), but realize I envision him with a unique main blade that he would use.

Still kickin'! Got everything represented and roughly blocked out, moving on to anatomy/shape/silhouette/basemesh refinement and sculpt.

Progress on the sculpt. Developing the design language should help inform everything going forward. Still need to refine the lower body. Lots still being played with. I've developed his face and am figuring out the greater lore to push the storytelling a bit.

Sculpt update, slow and steady:

Realizing there was a deadline extension, I've re-approached some elements that were bothering me and am pushing closer to the spirit of the concept, which is a bit more alien. I'm hoping to have an update with his weapon early next week, with more regular updates here-out.

@javi_oses -- My plan is to use 3D-Coat/Photoshop. I'm imagining an overcast vignette for the final as it fits the narrative, and I am trying to level-up my hand-painting game, so hand-painted seems the likely route.

Tiny Update: Old weapon concept left, new weapon right. I've aligned his dagger's design to his faulds while maintaining some of the curvature and shapes I feel are necessary.

Did another pass of polypaint to begin visualizing the final, trying to make the focal points clearer. A few things to clean up and polish (I promise you, he has a back), but the sculpt should be done over the weekend. Looking forward to retopo.

Pushing glowy bits to recapture the concept more. He may need something minor on his leg to balance it. Fixing some design stuff. Refine, refine, refine.
