Hiya, So this should be fun.

I'm going SCI-FI! Haven't done much sci-fi environments lately so this should be a challenge.

When I think of old-style Sci-fi I think of the 60's and 80's, so that will represent the old and vibrant colours and futuristic structures will be repping the new.

My main theme at the moment is flamingo's as these are creatures that for me have an alien quality, I'll be using them to define this environment in some way.

Let's get rolling.

To start with planning out the composition and buildings in black and white.
Experimenting with interesting shapes and setting it at dusk as I want to really to bring out the vibrant lights that will be on buildings.

With the composition mostly worked out, just fiddling with the details and testing out where to put things and getting the levels right.

Will do some more painting and then move on to colour and texture.

I love the letters for some weird reason xD

Just keep in mind that -like faces- they attract a lot of attention so, unless you want it this way, you may need to make some adjustments to make your focal point clearer.

I really like the atmosphere in your piece, it has a nice distinct feel to it. If it wasn't finished, I 'd suggest you added some subtle signs of life, especially on the left of the image, or another car on the road for example. It's still good though! Good luck
