Finished retopology of all the mech's pieces, making sure they're ready to be sculpted on for smaller details, UV's are done as well and everything should be ready to be baked down for when the high poly is done. A few test renders for fun in Keyshot too.

This is shaping up nicely, you've done a lot of work. Those symbols are a really nice touch too, will add a lot of depth.

Some of the base details of the mech done, I'm planning on going over everything with a few scratches and scrapes to weather it a bit, was difficult at first trying to incorporate a certain style and have it consistent, as well as deciding about detail density of areas. Finding hardsurface to be a lot more deliberate and considered than organic.

Mecha is really great, I cant wait to see it finished ! :sunny:

Hi Goat !
Haha I know the struggle about putting details everywhere !
Maybe you should think about how the environment could affect your object. For exemple, the scratches on the plate behind the pipe may look odd, as that part should be protected a bit by this pipe.

Aside from that, it looks great so far

Yes definitely! It's something that bothered me a bit too haha, I'd have liked to go back and change it slightly but by then it's history had be deleted :frowning: I know it's a small thing but it does definitely make a difference. Something to keep in mind for the future I guess! Cheers for the input

Finally got all the wear and scrapes finished over the mech, took a lot longer than I had hoped for! You can probably even see where I transitioned into more focused scratches halfway through haha. Next I'll be baking some maps from these.

Started painting now, the head's going to be laying on the water and so I kind of 'bleached' that area a bit. What's peoples thoughts on the style? I don't want to add a whole lot of detail to the paint, just keep it quite flat and vibrant really.

Awesome work so far!

Thankyou marc!
On our way to finishing the props, I'll post an update for some of Kuno's props when we have them sorted, and then onto putting everything down. Still got vegetation to do which we need to get on asap as time is ticking down now! Here's a finished tent made, setup so that I can use ncloth to drape material over the landscape. Few tweaks still need to made to the cloth modifiers. Some cushions too!

love the textures and the sculpt !

really nice models and render. I am looking forward to seeing your final result.
