Hey,sorry for the late reply. The tutorials that have helped me the most are 'Painting like a sculptor' and 'Painting with confidence' (the first one). That been said @hermidraws summed it up pretty nicely. The reason why those two tutorials helped me so much is because they focus on things that didn't really understand when i first watched them. Definately recomend them tho ^^.

Decided to take a quick break from the usual Ryan Studies and practise my gestures as well as my lines. And so, i revisited an old friend and tried to sketch out some of his attacks. I feel like i'm still getting used to drawing digitally. Oh man, nothing beats good ol' pencil and paper when it comes to sketching.

Ryan metcalf's imp mother study. Again, i had a pretty hard time with this one. The color varietion on the original is fantastic and i have to admit that i needed to refer to my referance quite a lot in order to reach this stage. His legion stuff is on a whole other level. But those designs are really fun and definately helpful. I'll go push the rendering just a bit more for practise.

Really just fantastically beautiful work all around. Your eye for design is incredible, and your painting skills are awesome.. the characters just pop right off the screen. I also love that Sandor Clegane fanart you did!

Thank you, but keep in mind that most stuff posted here are studies based on other peoples work. What i do is, i take concepts from my favorite artists, i copy the lineart and then i try to paint and render them without looking at my referance. This way i can focus on improving my painting skills without having to worry about design/color theory etc. Clegane was also a study of Ryan Metcalf's original piece. I just love the way he defines his forms and i figured his clegane piece was a great example of that.
If you like what you see here, please look into the original artists who did those concepts. Their names are mentioned above the pictures. You're going to love their work i'm sure .

So i've been trying out this new exercise, where you have to paint a rough copy of a landscape photo. Details are not important but you have to complete the picture without color picking at all. It's suppossed to be a great excersice to train your eye in seeing color relationships etc. I guess it's more of an illustration thing but it's really fun ^^.

I guess i could render him more but i don't think that will solve anything. I'll probably go back to him at some point but i think it's better to focus on some more studies for now. They could potentially help me out.

What exactly you are disappointed on? Write those things down (if you haven't already) that way you can do more focused studies, than just repeating the same studies of another persons over and over again, without knowing your plan for battle.
