First commission piece and would like some feedback

Hi,

I have a friend who generously asked me to do a commission piece for him. He wanted a dragon breathing fire on an army to hang over his gaming table. The task was above my comfort zone, but I tried to complete it to the best of my ability.

I feel that colors are off between the foreground, midground, and background. However, I'm not sure what exactly it is. Any feedback on that would be very helpful and appreciated, as would any suggestions on how to improve the piece overall.

I personally like this piece, the dragon has a kind of "creature from a card" coming alive vibe to it given the dragon's overall design. As for colors, I think given how bright the fire is, it would be a source of reddish light that affects all the figures, helmets and wall. Helmets might use just slightly saturated blue light on the highlights and reflections from the blue sky. Sorcerer should contrast more with the background if you want to make her a focal point, but given her location on the canvas might be a bit unbalanced

This looks great! the only thing i'd point out is the clouds in the background. the clouds to the top left could be a bit darker, then make the hrns a little brighter and for the clouds on the right make them a bit brighter for more contrast against the wings

imo tinting the sky a little red might give it that more dramatic effect. i also added basically a thick soft brush line at the bottom with extra dark blue to give it that darker contrast but made it super soft.

tho looking at it again i made the sky a bit too red, just a slight tint would do but i'd recommend making it slightly darker to contrast the horns but not too dark so that it still contrasts the wings too

This is just my opinion so feel free to ignore if its not what you are going for

Snakker - I'll add a reddish light on the figures and walls and see how that looks as well as a saturated blue on the highlights. The sorceress isn't meant to be a focal point, and I've struggled keeping her from drawing too much attention. I think it's the hair and am going to change it a auburn to see if that helps.

Mitsuki-youko - I like your suggestions about the clouds and will make them. Also, I like the dark blue line at the bottom as it does add a nice contrast. Regarding tinting the sky a tad red, I'll try it out.
