This month will fully focus this whole area from Entrance to End of chapter follow my previous 2 post idea sketches flow as portfolio as I notice this actually can cover the whole story culture in very short page, so I started from Entrance.

Anyway, here's the amended version of Landscape art. Possible to comeback for upgrade more structure for main focus but vibe has been set, so nothing will change except the main building incase update needed. More upper crust layer, less busy bottom, brighter point of interest, recycle unwanted structure to background, clearer path.

Removing the left part will be increase tremendously beautiful but I wanted retained it to show entrance to main focus red tree, so those will remained.

This week going back to old design and renew their uniform fashion, natural habitat sketches, and entrance. And actually finalize the road map, from 30page to 45page. Feel like its not gonna have many people read it but I want to create this just for future reference.

Oy really nice renderings and designs. Attention to texture and detail is really good. Overall tone seems to be with cool and muted colors, which makes sense given the setting of these pieces.

@daceronine - Ayyy thanks, texture of armor actually use Matte Paint method by Googling the leather than Win+Shift+S to printscreen the image and little bit of mixed brushed. So it save me ton of time lol.
@Pattu_w - Ayyy thanks, hundred hour of hunting automatically imbedded the visual memories of armor that dunno I actually draw like one lul. Thanks btw.

The following art has little bit of body gore disfigurement so beware.

This week paint one of the boss (There is 3 but this one heavy), meanwhile Blender release 4.0 so I use Blender for background environment.

Using basic geometry node to form the building. No overdoing it because its just background.

Once upon a time, Northric Republic was ruled by imperialism with Three monarchy. King Herius was ruthless and rigid thus unfavorite in everyone eye, shoving disdainful and starving civilian to mining lowest underground and breathless slump. Eventually the discovery of Paroxgistism lead the chain event of fate succumb to his own demised.

The frozen mummy was unmoved for 200 year until recent event eco-terrorism by Lunadrian. Rumors has it a Lunadrian descent from Moon to observed and manipulate the open-museum. Growling of unknown creature and eerie scream has vibrate the stony jungle, quaking the unburned hated. Blinded visitor always described paranoia of thousand eye striking fear to their trembling stomach, perhaps the inheritance cursed was the longing period of scaring king, always paranoia of arsenic tea even in isolated castle.

Pg2 Idea sketch - The idea is from Ludwig in Bloodborne, supposedly wanted to include some cloth but the body size become 5-6 meter tall so decided not to put it.

This week work on Lunadrien, or known as residence of the moon. So design will be very different from Marresean design.

For a long time I don't want to touch this and put it as last design because early idea is just like Earthian clothing looking space suit. Something like picture below where futuristic meet (found on google). Few month ago thinking just few sketches and call it a day and submit portfolio.

Her design spark my mythical 7th sense that I thought why do I not think of it? So I have been back and forth occasionally visit her Artstation to learn the way she paint and design. Recommended to check it out. Name ' Yuyun/Jessie Jiang ' incase you don't trust the link above for security measure (Understandable for link out of nowhere).

So here the design whole week I spent on this 1 character and 1 mech.

The design was meant to easily distinguish between Marssean and Lunadrean. And Lunadrean have a very strong scientific advancement like quantum yada-yada. Lore wise will write during final compilation.

Sketches idea and color. Mask is high frequency animal repellent and mask respirators, at the end choose Asura angry looking face for doubling the effect.

Color scheme is japanese shrine maiden 巫女 which white color really well represent Moon white as shiny diamond in the sky. Blue latex body suit is to tell they have high scientific advancement.

Like to share how simple Hard brushes paint lighting can create impressive glossy effect. Got so mad at myself how easy it is when I saw some guy paint bunny suit with just 2 black and white color.

Follow up it mech design. 6 month ago the design of mech supposed to be Titanfall looking mech, below is reference.

After I discover the Artstation artist, the mech design also starting to sway away to accommodate the heaven design. Here the design. Just 1 due to time constraint.

Right above is early idea, wanted to try out what it look like if mix with titanfall leg, not mixing well i would say. Right below is symmetrical block for idea creation, as you can see none of those stick LMAO.

The mech below is 8 month ago (Post 20), and the last time mech design. Time flies so does my knowledge, coming back draw mech feel so different now and feel improvement.

And finally repaint one of the character to fit in environment and 'unsexualize' her. Since I got material already, so design should be very fast and it took 2 day.

Without light interference. Little curvy lips and lower little to notice face do look little intimating.

Oy, those are really nice and VERY detailed pieces! Out of curiosity, how long does it take you to do one of these? Seems like trying to pack that much detail and color would take at least several hours.

Would be nice to see a compilation of the whole thing in a single place, I guess that's the point of the portfolio.

@mitsuki-youko ayyyy tq tq, possible the first thing Marc teach for mech design. So it always good to test where the design going to be or not to be lul.

@patrycja.lerch Ayyy Tq tq, I anticipate your next piece as well.

@daceronine Ayyy tq tq. Although all piece are vary depend, it does take large amount of time if the idea not stick. I have some example.

This one took 17h from start idea sketch to fully character done.

This one is the fastest, from sketches to end straight up hit what I imagine. 9h

Tana is the longest, the one when ton idea dont stick, one character can just stretch 65-70h. Below work time is CSP(Clip) after update, missing 20h approximate was before the update.

I hope this will not discourage but further encourage reader not giving up. Early might be harsh but so does every talent you sail across the internet, they too have to test their visual idea if it work. Except those who have industry leading mentor, I dont have.

Anyway, here is the sketches of my final creature, still think can be improve.

Oy thanks for sharing! I guess that kind of makes sense, doing such amount of detail is bound to take some time. It's easy to underestimate the amount of dedication doing such cool pieces take.

That 65 hrs is a lot xD though I guess there's many components to it such as all the detail, the text, logo, sketches and so on.

This week slow pace but still manage to pull some work.
Wanted to go out with a BANG for final creature so I hope the design convey well. After this will fully focus on Environment last 5 page + cover page and I'm done.

Final creature with knight looking + weapon design, lore wise will pose next week.

Below I would like to write about my character or creature concept art introduction.

The perk of delaying the project is we can cook much longer with better quality. During the early day, the character background supposed introduce like below pic.

Then I started to see bad quality and insufficient page as time goes by, so a lot of cut corner to reach the below pic.

The lack of dirty background previously make it look low quality, so I started include emblem and some pocket sand, quality do feel good tho.

And again, insufficient page has lead me to continue cut corner more. So only 5 humanoid +2 detailing of character will be introduce, below is atm final background design.

To make it unique, most background emblem resemble their inter connection between the other Sage like story hint ish. Not that people will notice but I like to test my effort.

Moving on is creature background design.
Did not touch this topic until recent week, at first I choose this background pic below.

So what is this? is 3 natural satellite watching over Marres. Lunadrean has eye on the planet.

Which will landed on the design like this

Then found black background with shadow actually work well last week, so I decided to use black background. Saw Fromsoftware concept art often full dark background, so thinking maybe this will work.
