Welcome!

My name is Garius, 26, from Seattle. I'm fairly new in doing digital stuff and concepts. There's a lost of learning that I need to do, and research I guess.

My goal is to work as an illustrator or concept artist, although I don't really know how to start or have a portfolio to show for.

I'm going to try to post here once a week, and I would really love your feedback.

I named her Maxine. I would say this is the first piece I've ever done that felt completed. I kinda just winged it when it came to the armor. I need to do more research about these things.

Try adding a small amount of strong highlights along the edges. That will add the sense of it being metal when you don't have a way to make it reflective due to the basic background (which is just fine).

Here is a link to a speed-paint to an artist I like to watch at times of him painting a metallic object.

I hope this doesn't fall under the "Don't post stuff that isn't yours" rule. If so, I apologize.

You want to be careful with it, though. Too much and it will look a little off. Put it in the wrong areas and it will just look wet. Have fun with it though. Something like that you can only get an eye for by trying it.
