So its been a while since I was active here, which is a bummer. But I recently finished this Fan art piece and I would love to hear some critique on this.
I think this is an awesome piece. I really see this as awesome poster or comic cover. I would recommend brightening the face of genji a bit more. Other things I'd suggest is adding more bounce light from the fire in the background onto Genji's armor. I feel that the anatomy of the two characters needs to be fixed a bit. Looking at yours, the ribcage for genji felt like it was small on the body. I did an draw over/paint over on top showing the naked body underneath to hopefully visual show what I'm talking about. The pectorial muscle(chest) looked a little low and was in the area of where the abs would be. So I moved it up. In yours, the waist was a bit to wide as well so I adjusted it. I believe you made genji have more muscle mass than he even has in game but thats ok. He is a strong character anyway. I really love the pose and attitude of the character. You really did his character justice. The rendering of this piece again is really cool. The color work was done really well and the values work well as well. The blur effects really add to the final piece. Solid work man. Keep up the good work. Look forward to more from you. This is a very nice piece to look at, solid in style. In my opinion one thing breaks the style: the fire circle. You clearly see brush strokes and all kinds of glow, but I'd expect it also to have a stroke like the rest of the piece. And I think it's too bright/orange, it distracts from the characters.
