Hi everyone! I'm Giulia, I'm 22 yo, and I'm a graduate game artist from Italy.

I currently live in London and I'm looking for my first job in the videogames industry. Right now I'm working on a few personal projects, mostly portfolio pieces: I thought it would be a good idea to share a few of my favourite artworks here on Cubebrush.

I will be posting both new and old artworks, including sketches, character designs, illustrations, environment concepts, and some 3D stuff as well!

I'm planning to recreate this toad statue in Zbrush and make a really small diorama in Unreal Engine cause I think it's a cute design. I'll include the process in the next post!

• Toad statue update -
  Since the last post, I've been working on my toad statue (the concept for it is in the last post) and a little composition in Unreal Engine 4 using Megascan's foliage and a few old materials. This is still a work in progress, I plan to add some particles fx to make it look more "magical"
  

Current setup:

Old version without Megascan's foliage (and first lighting pass):

Toad statue (sculpted in Zbrush, retopology done in Maya and textured in Substance Painter)

Quick lighting and composition concept (nothing fancy, it's just to figure out the mood and color palette before diving into Unreal Engine)

It seems like we came upon an ancient and powerful artifact! It looks really awesome. The lighting already gives it that mystical magical vibe.

My toad statue scene is done, it was super fun! Especially cause I had to force myself to use new tricks, such as light functions, god rays planes and particles fx. I also decided to add a few ceramic bowls with fruit offerings (all the fruit is from the quixel megascans fruit pack).

My goal for my next 3D portfolio piece is to create something that's more colorful and stylised than anything I've done before, so I came up with this little diorama. I was inspired by a painting of some roman ruins by Leonardo Coccorante, I've just rearranged the different architectural bits in a surreal way and used a really limited palette. Sculpting this in 3D will be super fun, I can already tell!
