Thank you @queeniemp It was interesting combining two challenges at once.
Day 31 of Arttrober is a personal choice.
Day 31 of Inktober is Fire.
Here is Pinocchio from Lies Of P sitting on a throne made from bosses put together and fire.
I chose him because I liked playing the demo and wanted to draw him on a throne.
I finally finished The Inktober and Arttrober challenge.
It was a little more difficult than I thought.

The new Captain Marvel movie was last weekend. I thought I'd draw one of the original Captain Marvel, Mar-vell, and Ms. Marvel.

I like Ms. Marvel's second costume.

I did some facial studies.

Here's some work in progress for Captain Marvel I thought about using the sketch lines to shade the character. The hair is a bit of a challenge.

I started on the legs and the shading.

I started shading Ms. Marvel working on the skin.

I did some more work on Captain Marvel with the shading around the legs.

I shaded the legs again lightened the hair a bit and worked on the skin

I colored him with gradient maps I think it turned out pretty well.

I also wanted to give the emblem and fist a glowing effect.

I did some hand studies and some shading and lighting. I think each hand took 2 minutes to draw and paint.

I finished the grayscale picture of Ms. Marvel. The hair is a bit challenging.

I added gradient maps afterward.

I remembered recently that Mark posted a learn to draw characters in 30 days video. I thought I'd work on that.
"Day 1: Draw a character in a style you like/aim for in a fairly neutral pose (not too complex). Don't trace it! "
I started reading Dorohedoro so I thought I'd draw the main characters Nikaido on the left and Caimon on the right.

"Day 2: Copy the face of a character you like from 2-3 angles."
I did this one a week ago and I think this counts. Here is Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus. I didn't see the series, but I saw a music video about her from Fabvl.
I thought it'd be fun to practice drawing expressions.
I would like a critique of the sketches.

Good day Gregorya, not Sifu level but average Marc student. You ask for critic I deliver my critic as student POV, I hope the word I writing is not too harsh and you can bite it, dont worry there will no curse word.

For some reason I felt like they are looking at same angle but I can see your top 2 attempt to draw looking from below which hit the quota. The character in Digital Circus is much emphasis circular shape but your one look more pointy so it immediately throw off the feeling of similarity, which is the concern why I feel not right. So you might need to improve the copy paste skill eh, don't worry about not using reference since even Hirohiko Araki (JOJO artist) use reference all the time when drawing.

But we are here for facial expression, overall I can sense the multiple layer of despair of character in crazy world, I can feel unfair, creepy crawling, threatening, sadness, and distress. The right below corner facial expression teeth might need to work around little or just hide the upper teeth, curved the lip more crescent. Something like below if you like it

The eye do look crazy tho, maybe work a little lower eye lids. Overall the eye and eyebrow work well with character expression so, nice, keep it up.

Btw do you have any art direction you want to follow? Like draw like Rob Liefeld or anime style?

Hello @funslub1996 Thank you for the critique.
For the angles most of the references I gathered, It's mostly the same angle. I focused on the facial expression and didn't look at the round shape. I'll see if I can draw it again.
Here are the references:

As for art direction, I don't have a clear one at the moment. Maybe a type if anime style.

"Day 3: Draw the body parts you can't see from a reference (best guess), try to draw what's under the clothing for example. if you can do it quickly, do a few. "
I did this one with 3 characters. Rukia from Bleach. Shin and Noi from Dorohedoro, I just started the series, so I don't know if they're villains or neutral.
I think I got this one right.

"Day 4: Trace the outline of the head from a reference, but draw in the face (no trace here!)(tip: on another layer). Then erase the face you drew from reference (or toggle off the layer) and draw it again from memory(on another layer). Repeat the process a few times"
I used two references one on Pinterest, and the other one from a facial reference pack. The odd numbers are copied the even ones are from memory.

Day 5: Draw the head shape from reference from a few angles (skip facial features except the ears). pick common angles. I drew the head in different angles and I thought I'd add some animal ears and elf ears along with human ears.

Day6: Draw the naked body from Ref in a neutral pose (body+head, no hair)
I drew this woman with the reference on the left. It's a bit of a challenge with the line art. but I think I got the pose right. I may need to make the shoulders.

Day 7: draw the naked body again, but from memory.
I drew this right after I drew the other one. After I finished this I realized I wasn't supposed to draw the hair.

I didn't do much. I followed a Mark Crilley tutorial for the chibi Santa and drew the tree and fireplace from imagination.

Here are some of my last drawings from 2023. I did some more gesture drawings for thirty seconds and one minute each.


Day 8 of the character challenge is to take an existing drawing erase half of it and draw it again using the other side as a reference.
I started with Maki from Jusisu Kaisen, but I thought of another one. The smiling statue from Solo Leveling and Frien in that order.
I painted over the face with a single color on the left side and drew it again from the reference on the right side. It's still a challenge.

Day 9: Swap the face of two characters in the same pose, drawing them both from reference (bust only, no hair, no clothes)No tracing.
Here is Maki Zenin and Toji Fugishrio from Justukaisen. I swapped their faces.
In case anyone asks, There's also a random joke I found on a livestream.

Day 10: Using two character refs, create a single new character using features from both.
I decided to combine Maki Zenin from Jujsu Kaisen, combined with Itachi Uchiha from Naruto. I wanted to combine those two because she did something similar to what he did in Jusu Kaisen. Should she have red Sharingan or green?

Another reference:

Day 11: copy a body in a simple pose and make a minor edit on that pose.
I sketched Mei Mei also from Justsu Kaisen. This was my second attempt. It was pretty difficult to get correct.

Day 12: 10 to 15 2-3 min gesture drawing. focus on the silhouette, and make sure the proportions are somewhat human-like. I think I got it right.

Day 13: Choose a pose from day 12 and spend 10-20 minutes on it instead. Focus on accurate proportions. I chose two poses and focused on the proportions and the clothes. The gestures are the lighter ones.

Day 14: The same as day 1. Copy a character drawing of the full body. No tracing.
I recently watched Record of Ragnarok and I've decided to draw Buddha from the series Record of Ragnarok. It's a pretty good series. I ran out of room to draw the feet.
