Love the paper sketch. Is that on A4?

For your 2 mins gesture drawing, i feel you are trying to add every detail in the ref which is not the main purpose of gesture drawing. Try to focus more on flow and expression of the pose rather than details such as clothes. Hope that helps!

Thank you @mitsuki-youko. Thank you @Gordon003. I not sure what A4 is I sketched it on a 7 by 10 inch paper in a sketch book. I see that an A4 is 8.27 x 11.67 inches. Not exactly that size.

I saw this comic on YouTube and twitter. Here is a portrait study on a Kuchisake-Onna. One with and without the scars. Maybe I should look into making expressions. References on the bottom.

I also did some gesture drawings of images for 2 minutes each. I think I'm getting the hang of it.

I also tried my hand at figure drawing so far it's a bit of a challenge.

It helps me to try paying special attention to the main masses and tilts of the shoulders, neck, spine then find the joints in space before making the cylinders for the members

As for shading hard objects, I would avoid soft edges (like spraypaint). In stead, you are better off making more or less homogeneous hard edged shades. For example with the lasso tool, you can select the edge and paint in the value or be all painterly and paint the value with a brush and then brush the edges to make straight lines

I did some three minute gesture drawings It's not so bad.

I also did some studies one with a mouth study. I also did a torso study based on a meme I found on pinterst.
It reminded of the movie Sorry To Bother You, and I recently watched JoJo's Bizarre adventure part 6: Stone Ocean.

I did a sketch of Blade in the Sengoku Era in Japan a few weeks ago. It's kinda like blade and Ghosts of Shushima.

I started some 5 minute gesture drawings. I even took the time to shade them. It's pretty fun so far.

I've also dis some studies of the hero Blue Marvel. A pose and a bit of a quick portrait study.

I also finished another portrait study. I had some red in there so I made the shirt red.

I for gesture studies I'd say to try and use longer flowing lines, or try to connect a series of shorter lines into a rhythm of a longer line, whichever way works for you.

When it comes to studies of other artists (or photographs) in the 2nd half, try to have a clear goal in mind for the study. Like learning how the face is structured or how to construct the eyes for detailing later. Copying is indeed good, but its good for 'digging the information void' (as Marc likes to put it). When you copy something and it doesn't come out how it should, you should immediately have questions like: "How do you construct this feature?", "How do you create this visual effect in a digital painting software?", "What shapes are used?".

I did another 5 minute gesture drawing. I tried to connect the lines to a longer line.

I also did some Portrait studies of Luke Cage. I mostly shaded the one on the right. I think I focused on the facial features and the shading and lighting.

I did a quick study of Tomie from the series of the same name.

I also did some poses from imagination. As well as a quick pose with another image.

I also did some more gesture drawings 5 minutes each. i'm still looking to connect the lines.

Good job on that artist study, figures are showing improvement, especially the breasts, you’re starting to draw them more realistically

Watch out for symbolic and white eyes in your rendered pieces. Note that when you look at a person’s face, even though you know the sclera is white, it rarely is white unless you point some strong light directly at it, it will usually be gray and shaded as a sphere within the eyelids

Also, as for the symbolic eyes, in stead of using a common shape for the eyes (like almonds) try to visualize the eye more 3 dimensional, like the lids wrapping around the sphere and their thickness - or just some lines and shapes that would otherwise suggest that type of construction (for example drawing the shadow of the upper lid and a hint of brightness of the lower lid, rather than outlining the entire palpebral aperture

Thank you @snakker. I really think I'm doing better with the gestures. I focused on the shape and location on the breasts. I may need to study eyes next. do you have any examples of the eyes being three-Dimensional?

A one minute gesture drawing

I also did some environment sketch based on some references I found. The idea is some people in red cloaks summoning a demon. I think it's in 2 point perspective.
