Alright I'm back, Its been a while. I took a break to draw something a little closer to home. Just wanted a break from the Mech Stuff. Below is the original Idea I had.

I started working on the Pose first making sure it was anatomically possible (look at the extra long right arm in the concept). So I made adjustments to the pose. and below is the overall result.

Next was the Background. At one point i thought the overall tone of the Background wasn't working anymore so i changed it to the first image. but then I wanted to try going back to the original background and realized it look good (aside from the sword). So i played with 2 different ideas. anyways let me know what you think - which one you like the best.

I was planning on going back to the Mech stuff but if i can think on a cool concept I might do the Vivi Art challenge on the discord.

I like either the 2nd or 3rd one the Market makes the illustration feel more lively rather than having an empty town in the background, and for the hand on the 3rd one, you could have them hold a fruit from the fruit stand in the background to have the hand look less awkward holding nothing.

What are you planning to do with the people in the background? Are those staying silhouettes? Maybe they are to dark like this, as the rest of the image is very bright. Also the arm is getting a bit lost.
The rest looks awesome, love the armor and the character itself!

thanks, I was thinking of having a fruit but I wanted to show the hand in a more menacing manner - the claws. in hindsight I don't think it did the job so the fruit might have been the better choice.

I think they will stay silhouettes, the original idea was to have them be actual people but I switched them to silhouettes for 2 reasons - (1) I wanted the focus to stay on the foreground and I thought the characters (skin color, clothing , etc. would push detract from the focus. (2) it would be more time consuming for little reward at the end of the day. I could be wrong but that's how I saw it as I was looking at the background.

Really cool concept, Handro!
I especially like the second and third one! The first is cool too, but I feel like the perspective of the character and the environment around it don't quite macht Really looking forward to seeing you complete this piece!

you could put in a skin tone for the people behind or make it to where they have brown robes covering their faces and then to help keep the focus on the foreground try blurring it out of focus so the eye of the view focuses on the character in the foreground or if they are far away enough you could introduce atmospheric perspective into the piece to really separate and desaturate the crowd of people.

I would also think about the backstory behind why they are there if you are showing a more menacing side of them what is making them show their claws out in the open? as opposed to if they are just strolling through a market and they look calm/confident without a threat is there a reason to show hostility in the first place? excited to see the finished piece when your done.

I like your ideas, some of them I considered myself, however I'm done with this piece as of now - mainly because I want to have enough time to work on the Vivi Art challenge in the discord group.

I will keep you your feedback in mind though.

alright I'm back, I've been busy with lectures and the Vivi fanart challenge. I had a few ideas in mind but i liked the one i selected below. I've made some progress on the painting but it still needs work. Let me know what you think.

I wanted to post this before progressing further in case anybody had any feedback.

Looks awesome! The only thing I could say would be the background needs some more detail because the greyish green works but it still feels sort of empty maybe make some thicker trees or hint at more trees being in the background. overall looks great, nice colors as well.

Alright here's the sketches for the next one - was really feeling a western scene. Not sure about the color yet, I'm focusing on the linework since I haven't gotten a good palette yet.

I really like the palette of the second piece you posted. The dark greens of the environment go really well with the oranges of the second horse! Good job, Handro!

its been a while, i wasnt able to draw or post anything because i was upgrading my pc. I just recently got back into the groove of things. this past week. I have spent some time looking at some tutorials people have recommended in the past and just trying to learn new stuff in general. anyways instead of trying to jump back into what i was doing prior to stopping i decided it would be best to brush up on some basic concepts.
