Dang! 20 Days since my last post, I wanted to update this with something meaningful and its taken me some time to make some progress.
To start of, I Jumped Back into Mech Design - My last attempt at jumping into this felt unmotivated and as such I didn't do my due diligence with the Design. I did however get a few helpful comment that pointed me towards some great videos. So I did some homework and really tried to understand Mech Design this time around.
I started with the Videos and then I moved onto a simple exercise - "Break A Box" most beginner design look really blocky because they don't have a visual library to reference to help them break down a box into something a bit more intricate. For me this was hard because of my architectural background, in my experience this means of looking at space in the form of a square to get as much SF out of a space as you can. Anyways this is the result of the exercise. I didn't spend to much time on this because I figured the next exercise would better help me with this problem.
After the "Break a Box" exercise I decided to built a Gundam to help me understand how Mechs work. Pictures below (sorry for the sloppy placement of stickers, it was my first time building one). It definitely helped me understand how pieces of a mech would come together. which prepared me for the last exercise.
Actually "Designing" a robot - overall this took me about 2 weeks of slow progress, because I was thinking and referencing how joints would connect to make the mech work. I came of with the general outline of the Mech first then I proceeded to figure out how it would work. this was the result.
Overall I reference a bunch of Mechs but i was mainly inspired by the Titanfall Universe for the design.
Anyways All that being said. I am looking for feedback, this is my first actual attempt at designing a MECH so I know some things are wrong. I want as much feedback as I can get so I can improve the design and carry it over into the next design.
Thanks for reading all that if you did.
