Help my limbless potato!

Not sure if this is the right section for it, but i'll put it here anyway.

So, I was trying to draw without a reference, and was really happy with how my sketch was going... but then it came to the legs (and arms... but i'm pretty sure i can do the arms). I was attempting to give her crossed legs, but no matter how i did it it looked off... any help?

I moved it into the correct place for you. Anyway I did a quick draw over for this.
I think this is a good start but to improve it, you should use reference. Breaking things down will also help.

I'm not the best at breaking it down and i agree i should probably have used a ref, Your sketches are helpful, and i'll see where it goes

No problem man. Just happy to help. Anyway, just practice drawing boxes and simple shapes. What helped me out a lot was Micheal Hampton Book. There are other books that are good but this is the best in my opinion. Very simple and easy to understand.
