Man I really love how structured and methodic your blog is, I think I need to do something similar because its very easy to tip off and lost days with out being productive!

As of your art, I really like it, I really do think that you can go pro if you keep at it! you seem to have the right mindset which is vital imo.

Mini-rant.

There is an effing restriction set over how long you can edit the main posts. So lets say if 30 days or 14 days past, you can't edit your posts anymore. Which I find really really disappointing for a forum like this.

IF this gonna stay as is, consider myself gone from this forum. I am not gonna stand behind that restrictions, is just not the right way to do things.

Update :

Decide will just continue updating here, but not as frequently. Want to focus more on doing.

5 Minutes mini breakdowns. Focus shapes + colors. Will continue with these for the next 2 weeks, and see before and after for painting from imagination while doing these etc.

And of course take notes for each of these, to know what I can do better next time.

Have you thought about studying some perspective? Applying 2-point perspective in your #2 breakdown (house) or 1-point on #3 and #4 would definitely push things. Foundation Group has an easy to follow tutorial on perspective. Otherwise dont be afraid to go a bit darker in value to get more contrast otherwise things tend to look washed out. Nice job though, i like your studysheets

Already following oatley's academy, the main point of this is to get away from the too technical side of thinking of perspective but more of guessing at first. But for a 5 minutes time this sure is challenging, but fun for sure.

What I like about his approach is that before that I was too caught up on getting the perfect vanishing point alignment, and now he suggests the opposite which is to use it as a tool and focus on storytelling if not your mindset will be stuck up on nailing everything perfectly, and forgot what the main goal was in the first place.

Just lost my drawing pen, fell on the pen nid which broke the chip within, so possibly 2 weeks or so without digital, mainly pencil for now and brush pens.

Letting myself just chill out for the next 1 week and half or so. Been too focused on technical skill learning, and gathering knowledge, without letting myself just explore. Be a child.

Will be updating in the next following days a timeline of this whole year for art and stuff, and also write down couple of focus for next year or before depending how fast my microphone arrives etc.

But I have been putting of a mini-project for this entire month, so yesterday I gave myself a challenge to complete at least the thumbnail sketches for the first landscape.

For this entire month I didn't do a whole lot of art related stuff, but more design related. Such as learning about Webflow (to build my website), and design challenges to improve my visual design UI skills.

Highlights of August 2016 up to December 2016. Didn't include before August, because its not until Aug that I actually decided to pursue the area I am interested in learning about which is landscape painting.

For now, I will not give an answer to that question since its a route of simply uncertainty, for now I am mainly focusing on getting into a studio as a Visual Designer, while art is more of a Hobby.

Who knows, maybe 6 months/1 Year/2 Year, I would say like its time for me to pursue Art and make it into something I can live off of, but for now I will just treat it as a experimental side hobby, and take small steps each day towards what interested me into it in the first place.

Still trying to recall whom you were on the old forum.

More of a small update of whats happening. I am currently focusing on finishing 4 books related to art, so I will be updating possibly around this week or next week with what I am learning through the books.

I bought the books since last year Q3 or Q4, but never took the time to actually finish them, so I commenced a project to start and finish the books before the end of Q2 (all of them), but 2 for this month and 2 for next month, unless I finish that earlier.

Playing with different color setups (used curves) to manipulate the colors in order to get to a final thumbnail that I like. Will give this a day or two, before I decided which color scenario I will pick.

And a small update, will be only updating on weekends, since in weekdays I focus more on visual design (ui, webflow etc.) related things, from time to time (if I still have time left) some painting here and there during the night time.
