I am not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I feel like I kind of have been struggling with this for a while. So, recently I was talking to one of my friends that works in media, and he suggested to me that I wasn't doing enough to have more of a presence on the internet. He suggests that I need to have more social media sites, go to youtube, post more, and such.
But I feel as though that is what most artists do already. I have several different galleries and social media places, and I have my own website as well:
My Website: clarissaferguson.com
I try to be as active as I can on all my sites! lol And I try to network with other artists as well. But for a long time, I believed that if you were a really good artist and just simply posted as much as you are able to people will slowly flock to you or people that share your same interests will come to you. At first art to me was fun, but lately, it kind of felt like a competition or if you aren't popular enough then your work isn't good or people may not like your style etc.
I am not sure exactly what I could do better or what I am doing wrong. I'd think that I am trying to best to continually posts as much as I can and post to as many places as possible. (I am new to CubeBrush so I am not sure how to fully navigate this site yet.)
Do you guys think I am over thinking this? Or is there something I am missing? Any advice would be appreciated I am not trying to be like a big-time celebrity or anything, and I am not sure if I will ever reach the status of people like Maciej Kuciara, Valentina Remenar, Artgrem, Anthony Jones, Sakimichan, Jake Parker, (phew, I could go on XDD.) But I don't want miss opportunities because I am hidden away.
