One of the last exercises for Term2 - shapes with connections and interactive shading.
It wasn't that hard, but took a really long time, especially when I drew the simple geometric figures (from photo reference) and tried to render it XD.
Overall I think it's not that bad ^^.
Selection tool got a huge win here .

Only 4 exercises/assignments left for this term...

@catsforsnacks thank you so much. It might be due to the fact that I'm way more used to drawing characters and I'm quite new to shading and rendering. Besides, doodling some shapes was something I've never practice before so I was lacking the ideas for it and many times I rushed it t finally get over it .

3- and 4-point perspective practice.
I really need to read deeper into this topic, because it seems quite difficult for me and every time I was trying to draw I suddenly had a bunch of questions of why something needs to be done this way and not another, etc.
But I got myself some perspective study books so I plan to read more about it in the meantime of doing terms. I believe it'll help me more with creating some nice environmental drawings in the future ^^

Also as marc suggested, I've tried to make some structures using this perspective but I'm not sure if it looks good Maybe a bit XD.

Yo these all look great! It's much more of an excercice from what I recall doing. The top middle one green cube and gray cube look a bit wonky, but otherwise all fo them look great.

@mitsuki-youko thanks, I was trying my best :P. As far as I don't like the perspective, those are quite decent ^^

@daceronine thank you. yup,,, those cubes are wonky, because I was going with the existing convergence lines and found myself with such different shapes :P. I was a little bit smarter with the next ones :D.

Only 3 assignments left for Term 2 and I'm trying to get through them.
I thought the 4p human figure will be really scary, but surprisingly I had a lot of fun with it and it was relatively easy ^^.

And I had the opportunity for a small reminder of proportions, so win-win :D.

Another assignments done, this time it's the 3-point perspective gate.
I decided to make something similar to Marc's demo and I remembered to design some kind of dark elven gate a while ago, so I used the idea to create this drawing (you can see the ref in the top left).

It wasn't easy and I ended up eyeballing a lot of things, but in the end I think it looks pretty decent :). I plan to learn a bit more on perspective (maybe use some specific courses/books in this topic) and I hope to create some nice things in the future. I have a whole world setting in my mind just waiting to be drawn :D.

Another part I've done are the gesture/figure drawings. This time 5 minutes and 1 minute ones.
As before this exercise is terribly exhausting for me and I have to force myself every time I need to do this. I have to make a bit less sessions of it in the future, because I'm pretty sure they will be present through the whole course

I'm not sure if I made any progress in the figure drawing I haven't even look at those from the last term . I'll check them soon but I guess there's some more confidence to my lines. Can't wait to add some anatomy to those, because I got this feeling that if I'd new how the muscles go beneath the skin, I could draw it way better or at least with less mistakes ^^.

And with this post I can proudly announce that I FINISHED TERM 2
It wasn't that easy, but I'm even more hyped for the rest, because I can see my art getting better and with that I have even more motivation to draw :).

Damn that gate looks good. It looks so much better than my attempt at a gate when I did the same exercice. The design itself is already pretty cool, the perspective really makes it that much better.

I think we've all been there. Try to find a way to make it more fun for yourself or you'll get burned out pretty quickly. In my case I took a look at how others did their gestures and took some tips from them, learning how they did their strucutres, how they added very basic shados, and eventually I moved from real photos to sketchs from my favorite artists. It's more fun for me to do gesture of Tifa or Cloud than of a person photo.

Granted I'll still practice with photos frequently for my own benefit, and doing so has helped me do better gesture work in my pieces and also make better use of references for my own work, but I'll switch between sketches and photos and brushes and techniques frequently to keep it fun.

Grats! It's great you can recognize your own improvement and use it to fuel your motivation. Looking forward to more works in Term 3!

Sorry for inactivity. I've been through some health issues for the past month and couldn't do much in terms of art besides finishing some personal projects and comms. But I'm a bit better now so I can finally get back on track with everything and already watched the clothing figure video (not to mention was overwhelmed by it) so I should be able to go with daily exercises soon :).

Also:
@daceronine thank you <3. Yeah, I wanted to make those gates looks massive and even if I still like the raw sketch a bit more I'm pretty happy with the result.
And yeah, I plan to look at some gesture drawings videos that might get me more ideas of how to draw them. But I also have been at some similar figure drawing traditionally for a while now and after already drawing over a 300 of such naked studies I think I might get a bit burned out already, haha. Even if I really found the digital, time limiting ones way more comfortable to do :).

@patrycja.lerch thank you. I'm kind of surprised by those gates myself, I was almost sure that I'll mess it up at some point :P.

I'm so ashamed for being such an inactive bum, but there's a lot going on in my life now, and all those assignments are going extremely slow :(.

But I did what I could and while I'm slowly progressing with the new stuff, I decided to do what I actually can do with smaller effort, so I made an assignment for 10 lineart heads from photo references.
The first one was really fun and easy so I've tried to increase the difficulty by choosing faces with more visible features / expressions or with a different angle.

And the result is not that bad:
