We do reach stagnation or what we call "The Dip" , but never the less just have to keep pondering through it. And welcome aboard.

You've improved so much in such a short time! Very well done.

For those interested in my previous work, you can have a luke here: http://jamethee.tumblr.com/

Portrait painted mostly from imagination. Trying to apply what I've learnt from doing studies. I find that you always have to be looking for a specific thing to focus on instead of being a copy machine. Say if you wanted to practice rendering, the drawing doesnt have to be accurate, and you don't have to make it look finished. As long as you achieved the look you were after then that is enough. But that is only what I find that works for me. I'm interested in hearing how you guys approach your work.

This one is a study after Costa Dvorezky. I just love his brushwork.

Incredible level up, keep it up! Also the last artwork on the right reminds me of Knight Lautrec from Dark Souls, really cool design!

Gosh! These are so cool! First of all the progress is very inspiring, and the later works are just great! Very nice values on the black and white face, and the texture is very interesting. I am curios: Do you use the smudge tool to achieve that effect or just a bush?

@Tutuja Thank you very much! Yeah I used the smudge and mixer brush tools.

Mixer Brush tool? Never heard of it. I'm gonna have to check it out now

Just some experimenting with colours. Using an opaque brush so it forces me to manually pick colours. Trying to figure out how the colour temperature shifts depending on what kind of lighting there is.

Some stuff from the past few days. Trying to design some assets(?) for my fantasy IP. A chance to explore shape language and try to keep it consistent. These are some chests for a noble elf race and dwarves.

I also try to draw from imagination everyday and apply what I've observed or studied. Trying to solidify my understanding of things and be able to feel them out. Drawing in pen also helps to be more confident. I try to find things that are off with these drawings and then go to study the things that need work.

Thinking of creating some more creatures for my project. These are some golems. They help the dwarves to mine, smith and carry things. In return the dwarves help them by polishing their shell and preventing their cores from being harvested.
