Hello all ( anyone following my journey on here ), I am changing my posting date to Sunday. I have one week left studies begin, and a little over a month before my Masters Studies officially begin. This means that time management will be highly important, and I'll have to figure out how to maintain my daily art practice with less time in a day / week.

Here is the final Weekly Update for August 2023! I had some fun with a bit of Halo-themed figure drawing and art studies over the week. Looking ahead, I'll be fairly busy and drawing like crazy

Hello Again! I'm excited to share my first Weekly Update for the month of September 2023! While my Masters Studies officially begin in October, I'll be taking a language course for the local language in the area starting tomorrow. So I'll continuously figure out how to balance my energy and manage my time well so that I can keep showing up each and every day and practice art as best I can. I will continue to work on these things:

- Gesture Drawing
- Figure Drawing
- Anatomy
- Basic Fundamentals ( perspective, observational drawing )
- Art Studies ( real-life, fan art )

As I break into the Industry things will surely change, and for now I will continue to keep my faith and keep grinding, learning, and going. Here's my progress below:

Here is my second Weekly Update for the month of September 2023!

Yes, I missed my deadline of Sunday, and I intend on never missing a deadline again. I feel I am very, very close to breaking into this Industry and it is driving me crazy! I have a lot of areas I want to refine and master in Art, and I am sure that an Industry job will help me find out immediately what areas I am lacking in. I am extremely excited to find out what I can improve, and how far I can make it!

This is the second Weekly Update for the month of September 2023! I had a lot on my plate and I ended up have little time for this, so I resorted to doing some Art Studies from the Halo 5: Guardians Launch Trailer and a few Gestures

Here is my first Weekly Update for October 2023 My Masters Studies begin tomorrow, and as such there are some changes I'll be making:

- Gesture Drawing Updates ( Fridays - Weekly )
- Anatomy Updates ( Sundays - Weekly )

- Art Studies ( Sundays - Bi-Weekly )

Oh, and ...

- Weekly Term Updates ( Sundays, following the provided weekly schedule per term )

Yup I have decided that I am going to start over with the entire ART School Curriculum. And having looked at the provided schedules, I should be able to finish all the way through and earn my certificate as my Masters Studies come to completion in 2025

All I can do is continue to show up each and every day and take this new journey one day, one week, and one month at a time

Here's the first TERM 01 Weekly Update! It has been a bit of an overwhelming week as my Masters Studies have officially begun, and yet I have still managed to decide to show up and commit to my plan throughout the week. I will be patient and kind to myself as I adjust to my new routine and get into a better groove with things over the course of the month

Here is this week's Gesture Drawing Update There is a ton of change happening, and I have actually found it quite important to have something like this to come back to and keep me grounded throughout the process. I am excited to see where my new journey will take me, and any and all support from you guys on this forum is very much appreciated!

I may look into using different line weights to make these more discernible, alongside further simplification of the human form for each one. This will get easier and easier over time, and my approach is likely going to change a lot for sure

Can't underestimate the fundamentals! Even Pros like Marc keep doing gestures to keep that practice up!

Good idea about looking into line weights, always good to practice it.
More so than simplification, I'd recommend focusing on deconstruction. I think it helps a lot in the long run to simplify, to aquire spatial awareness, lighting and many other things.

I have so much going on, and I very very much would love to keep being relentless. However, I will allow myself to put my health first ( since it IS #1! ). And so I am beginning to do this right now, by pushing back my next Weekly Update for TERM 01 to this coming Sunday ( i.e. Week 02 from the Study Schedule )

Here is the Weekly Gesture Drawing Update

I have been faced with countless rejections from many job applications so far, and I just had someone tell me that it is "impossible" to be a Concept Artist. They did it with a smile on their face as they laughed at me and what I want to accomplish. But the joke is on them, because there WILL come a day where I WILL be a Concept Artist, PERIOD!

This brief exchange has given me some much needed motivation to keep going and continue being relentless Whenever that day comes that I land a job, I will be more than happy to post it on here so I can show you for real that it IS possible to live your dream. So let's go!

I've included some 2-Min Turnarounds here as well, since I felt it would be good to practice constructing the human form from different angles ( that way I really do need to understand the human form better ). That is all for now. I will see you soon

Here is the Week 02 Update for Term 01 I did a bit of a small paintover for the castle photobashing image on that front gate so the rocks would go in front of the gate ( adding depth and making it a little more believable ). I tried to do the face assignments alright, but I need to get better at the clone stamp and healing brush tools

Oy, good practice man, the castle looks great! Looking forward to seeing more, and hopefully hearing more good news The first path to doing something (like concept artist), is to just do it. Screw up, learn, screw up again, learn some more, get better, and before you know it, it happens.

Here's the Weekly Gesture Drawing Update I have just completed my Introduction to Concept Art & Digital Illustration Course at CG Spectrum

I am in full-on burnout right now. I'm taking leave from my master's studies. I've pushed back future academics to 2024. These next two months of 2023 will be centered on healing, rest, and recovery I have earned the right to truly rest and have a serious reset as I continue with my ART School Journey

@daceronine Thank you for the kind words, I know for sure I will be a Concept Artist soon. Every mistake is there for me to learn from.
