• This week is for the arms and hands in anatomy ( I'll post today's practice later today )
• For gestures, I noticed I was having some trouble with the proportions ( I tend to draw the head smaller than it actually is compared to the body, and today I realized I was drawing the legs just a little longer than their actual size )
• I'll be working on my proportions a lot this week!

• the arm anatomy is the most confusing for me as of now, so I may take more time to study this thoroughly to really understand it

• Rough day, but hey I still showed up and did my part. Sometimes it feels like I am making no progress, but I know if I take a look back I'll see it

• Here is my upcoming project I am beginning today. I have named it "Guiding Light," a sci-fi looter-shooter genre inspired by Destiny 2, Warframe, and Halo Infinite. This will be my multi-year MFA portfolio project, and also what I will submit to earn my Art School certificate.

• I am going back to school to pursue my MFA Game Development program at AAU, with an emphasis on concept art

• I have an internship with Icarus Development for a mobile game and a new summer internship with Three Train Studios for an animated 2D film

• I am a freelance concept artist for Traversed Realms working on a PG game for Steam

[ Exploration | 05-26-25 ]

"Exploration" will be small-scale one-off concepts / projects to explore specific ideas, art styles, genres, etc. I may or may not get back to these later on and polish them. The point is that these are meant to be brief and simple visualizations of creative ideas.

For this one, I had an idea for some Egyptian flower pots in a sci-fi setting, where the flowers themselves ( i.e. papyrus plant on the left, blue lotus flower on the right ) are holographic and emit light.

I have not consistently touched my wacom tablet or pen for quite a while, and I'm now easing back into drawing again

Months ago, I was hired as a concept artist on a small indie dev team. I thought that this moment would be something that would make me jump in joy and excitement, only to realize the reality of being a concept artist is not what I thought it was. Because I rushed the process of getting there, I completely burned out and had to leave the team soon after.

I have since taken a full break and have not touched a pen and paper or my wacom tablet for just over two months. I am picking myself back up and trying again with a different approach and a different professional focus ( more to come on that soon ).
