Kaabe - Art School Journey

Hey there guys, my name is Kristyna and I just like to draw, simple as that . I actually work in marketing so probably no art career for me there but I do want to get better so here I am, starting ART School. I actually completely stopped drawing for about 4 years, no kidding (I seriously didn’t even pick up a pencil); I moved to the UK from my home country in the Czech Republic to study marketing at uni (yup, no art education) and life just got hard and I lost interest in what I used to love, art amongst other things. I do regret it deeply and since I picked up drawing again recently, I wanted to make up for the lost time and get better.

Quite excited to be here, many of you have made mind-blowing progress so we shall see how well I get on, huh?

Here’s my first assignment. Lemme just say: WHAT. THE. HECK. So there was me thinking this was gonna be a piece of cake a few lines, some circles, easy you know... how very wrong I was. I’ll just make this a warm up exercise everytime I open Photoshop because my lines are rubbish and wonky and I need to get them under control.

@dangras-almeida Haha, I tend to rant a lot so if I have no one to complain to I just make weird notes of my thoughts, glad it was amusing 😂
Thank you for such a warm welcome and kind words, I’m really excited 😊 Re the fox piece, you can tell I’m no good with animals and that my style is quite stylised with everything kinda misplaced. I’d like to change that. Still keep my stylised portraits but base them on an actual anatomy knowledge. Not this willy-nilly eyeball stuff that I have going on 🤣

Hey ya'll, today I'm serving a fresh load of image adjustments. So, the deal is, working in marketing and creating content I'm quite familiar with all these and was a bit hesitant about this assignment because it's not like I've not edited tons of product photography, right? Well, let me tell you, the last one? That was bit of a monster. I think I got it colour wise almost spot on, I mainly struggled with the levels where highlights still seem quite 'contrasty' compared to low light areas. But oh well.
