Since I always struggle to draw a proper hand when doing figure drawings, I decided to start drawing some hands from reference to improve my skill in this aspect.

I also moved on to term 2 Finished the Visual Communciation Part 2 today. Pretty excited for the anatomy lesson!

After finishing the second “photoshop for digital artists” video, I tried too improve my shading skills. Any feedback here is very welcome

Also drew a second hand to study the human hands more.

Started with the first anatomy lesson and tackled the basic shapes studies Marc suggested. Looking forward to draw some heads next.

Finally found some more time to study. Tackled some more gradient and shading studies. This time I tried to not use the smudge tool.

I also started with the anatomy 1 course. But I don't have something to show just yet.

Found some more time today and drew some basic heads. Had some trouble with the guidelines for the cheekbones on the second and third face. Does anyone has any tips how to draw these guidelines in this angles? And as always, feel free to add some feedback

Jumped back so the very basics today and wanted to fill a page with simple boxes. And I was shocked how bad my accuracy was when drawing horizontal lines. I practised mostly drawing circles and ellipses in the last weeks. I think I should tackle my straight lines a bit more. Or should I simply rely more on rotating the canvas?

Here is an example how much worse my horizontal lines are.

I heard someone say a while ago, get really good at drawing an ellipse from one angle so you can draw one effectively, then add the others angles as you progress. I would assume this would apply to lines also, but I am definitely not very experienced. I rotate my canvas a lot for angles I find hard personally.

Started to study the first facial features. It‘s interesting to learn all these parts. Have to admit that I wasn’t aware our nose is split in half!

While studying the ears it was super instructive how important small shadows are to really give the ear a ear form.

Hey hey! After having some serious motivation problems the last weeks, I finally found my fun in drawing again

To not overcoming, I took some steps back and drew some boxes and cylinders. Actually had quiet some fun filling the canvas.

Another round of drawing some basic shapes. But this time with some morphing and interactions. It’s really challenging to get everything to look quite right. But I had fun with this exercise.

Back with some heads. Will definitely do some more of these since it doesn’t went to smooth. And please, any feedback is welcome! If there is anything wrong, let me know!

Today I did a small study on noses. First I had some trouble, but then I got a hang of it. Will try this with references on self drawn heads next.

Looking fantastic! I agree the shape warping exercise is super tough! I spent a ton of time on it and should go practice again. But it really is very beneficial.

Attached some noses to some heads. Nice study. Need to get better at shading the noses and try more different shapes.

Hey, tried to do a full portrait by reference the last days. I'm pretty happy with the result. Will do more of these after I finished the anatomy term
