Today I did a small study on noses. First I had some trouble, but then I got a hang of it. Will try this with references on self drawn heads next.

Looking fantastic! I agree the shape warping exercise is super tough! I spent a ton of time on it and should go practice again. But it really is very beneficial.

Attached some noses to some heads. Nice study. Need to get better at shading the noses and try more different shapes.

Hey, tried to do a full portrait by reference the last days. I'm pretty happy with the result. Will do more of these after I finished the anatomy term

Today I did a little eye study. Next practice will be drawing the human head with all features from imagination.

Drew some more heads in different angles with all features. Still have some problems with some angles and features. Particularly the eyes and mouth are hard in some angles.

Would be cool if somebody could point out the biggest problems on my three heads, so I can focus on improving these parts

These are looking pretty good but I think the main issue is with the perspective. Do you have the constructions for these? It can be easier to see where things went wrong when looking at the construction. But for perspective the eyes, nose, mouth and chin should all be on parallel lines to each other. I have draw these lines in here and some are just a little off. Try drawing these lines over photo references to get a good idea how they line up should help. Let me know if you have any questions! Also I'm new myself so take this with a grain of salt.

Hey, thanks for your feedback! Sadly I don‘t have the construction anymore. But this is a good advice, I should keep the construction layers for moments like this.

And also thanks for the tip with drawing these lines to check if everything is in place. Will definitely try this when I do my next heads. Will also check these on reference pictures, to get a feeling for this

Soo did another head drawing from reference. Also tried to use the "check lines" @Lockenheim mentioned. Turned out pretty good, I'm happy with the result.

And don't mind the lines on the reference, I drew directly over the reference and wasn't able to remove it later on

Haven‘t posted in a while. In the last weeks I did some drawings from reference. On every peace I first tried to find some basic shapes to construct the object. Then I shaped out the structure more. After some I applied some basic shading, to get the picture alive. Was fun and felt nice to use the construction.

I also finally managed to start with term 2 perspective. Will post some exercises for this in the coming weeks.

Wow. I haven’t posted in a while. Having real troubles keeping the drawing game up. But here are some works from me.

You're very good in representing the personality of the people in your portraits 😄👍

Maybe it would be even better if you would do construction lines first and really think about the volumes and contours of the face : )
You can draw them directly on the reference and then try to draw the face on the side ^^

Thanks for the kind words! I also like the result. The face could have been better. Space for improvements in the next project 😄
