The image adjustment went ok, although I found the last image harder with no direction on what is to manipulate.
I am not too happy with the first image combination I did so tried a second one. Still not very happy with it but it got me to try a bit more. I think it would have been easier if the house did not have that many things in front. Also, any comments on what stands out and why would be appreciated (color balance, saturation..)
Hi! Hope you are all doing well! I have given a try at the 1 point perspective assignment I think most things should be OK as I used lines to the vanishing point for pretty much everything. However, the little things like the plates and bowls in the cupboard were really hard to get right, and I still don't know if they are correct perspective-wise. What do you think? Also if you see anything that does not feel the right size like if the couch was not human sized for ex. let me know! I tried to use a human for size reference for most things but I probably messed things at some point ... Thank you : )
Your 1 point perspective is looking pretty good. Placing the person was indeed a great idea, with all of the perspective assignments, creating a size reference really helps.
The only problem with the image that stands out is the fruit bowl on the table, getting the circles to be consistently in perspective is a little weird.
So what you have to do is make up two other vanishing points that will define what is a square for your picture. Moving 2/3s the width of your canvas off to the side generally works well, but as long as you are consistent and the points are equidistant from the center vanishing point you will be fine.
Draw out from your center vanishing point and kiss the sides of the circle that you want to make, and then draw a top line kissing the top side. After that draw a diagonal through the corner of the shape and that will show you where the bottom line should go. I did this all in purple in this image.
From there you can use the circle tool in Photoshop to make a perfect circle, and then use transform and drag the corners of the transform box to the corners of the perfect square you drew. Here it is with that sketched in corrected, your plates are all pretty close so they did not stick out.
I hope this helps, please let me know if it doesn't.
Hi Peter,
It helps a lot, that's exactly the tip I needed and I will try to apply asap. Thank you!
Edit to add my attempt at using this method. It is great, it makes the things I changed using it look so much more "right"! I did it pretty quickly but I can see it be very useful for future drawings where I am unsure about the perspective.
Good stuff, keep at it!
For the space engineer I would recommend making the screw on the top of the i look like it is actually driven into the background. Take a look at some photos of the outsides of airplanes and how the light curves down and back up around a bolt to see what I mean. Just a random fun suggestion to make it pop a bit more, the font is quite fun already.
Your assignments are looking good so far.
But I would try to be a bit looser and dynamic with your lines, so maybe try to draw more with your arm rather with your wrist. And for the type-assignment, I would think about another typeface. I think by the words space and engineer more at robust and geometrical shapes. And your typeface is the opposite of this. But in the end, it is a small photoshop assignment so don't take it too seriously.
Hi! Thank you. Yes, I find it really hard to get "flowy" lines. I know that drawing from the arm versus the wrist is a thing but I don't think I really put it in practice, I will try to think about it more!
It's funny for "space engineer" I feel more rounded shapes, like smooth curves, but I can see how futuristic stuffs usually are more geometrical so most people would have the same thoughts as you.
Thanks for your comment!

Hi Everyone! I haven't posted in a little while because I just feel stuck in Anatomy class (head basics). I have been back to the start (doing just the head shape with features location) as advised by Marc. I have done quite a few (although maybe not as many as Brett, I am impressed with his exercises!) but I feel like I am still not getting things right. Here is a few heads I did this morning. If you see any recurring problem or have any advice or comment please let me now!!

Hi There!
Please help!!
I didn't post in a while, but still kept working on the class
I am now looking at upper anatomy and I am stuck (for something that probably doesn't matter but I don't understand which for me means I just can't really move forward ... argggh!) On the screenshot below I put some notes that hopefully make sense: basically I feel like the attachment points should be inversed and I don't understand why they are not! (the drawing is from Marc's file with my notes in blue)
